Itchy skin relief

My pup, Rigel, seems to have itchy/flaky skin these days due to dry weather. I see some red dots on his skin as well. I thought about bringing him in to the vet but also saw a mist for dogs for dry skin online called "Miracle Coat Pet Skin Mist Treatment" and there's one review on the web that's really good; I was wondering if anyone's tried this before? Should I try it on my pup before taking him into the vet?

I've never tried that spray, but it probably wouldn't hurt to give it a try. If his skin condition is worsening, I'd give your vet a call and see what they suggest.

I have a Golden with skin issues and when I see red dots, it usually means a bacterial infections is starting. I'd take him to the vet.

I've been bathing Sawyer with Microtek and using their spray too and it's been really helping his itchiness and clearing up the rash on his tummy.

Search for "Apple Cider Vinegar" here on the Forum. EXCELLENT for any/all itchies. Read what other people have said about it.

And, please read in full this link ("Apple Cider Vinegar" is usually called "ACV")

Apple Cider Vinegar for Dogs

Very Important: If you decide to get it, ONLY get the ORGANIC "Apple Cider Vinegar". This organic ACV contains the nutrient-rich sediment, which is called "the Mother". The best brand to get is
Braggs sold at the Health Food store, e.g., Whole Foods, or the health food section of your local supermarket.

Here's one of this forum's links with info about how to treat hot spots and allergies, etc.:
