She is doing very well with a few more days of Doxy to go for the Lyme. But something interesting has happened.

She has had red tinged fur on her left foreleg for quite some time from saliva staining. It has disappeared When I had her in for the Lyme the vet noticed it and said one word, allergies.

I figured it might have been a soothing mechanism being a rescue. I also thought it might have been pain but no. Maybe environmental but it was through all four seasons. Wasn't the food either. I rarely ever caught her licking her leg.

The Doxy gave her diarrhea so I took her off the fish oil and added pumpkin to her food, the only changes beside antibiotics. Apparently my kid has allergies to fish oil it seems I feel so daft it seems to have been the fish oil the whole time.

I am glad that Fiona is doing good and is almost done with the antibiotics.

Steve, our Dylan had the same issue with licking his leg and the vet said the same thing Allergies or he is neurotic (changed vets) found a holistic vet that recomended local honey and within 2 months we noticed no more licking.
I have been using honey everyday in my dogs food. Just a thought.
They also get fish oil Erica gets more because of her hips.

I don't know whether to start the fish oil back up again. I don't want my dog to be an experiment. Seems clear to me like a slap in the face though. I thought I was doing right. They sure are different, like starting from scratch with every new dog.

Glad to hear Miss Fi is on the mend!!! Both Bae Lee and now Jordan are allergic to fish, confirmed by tests. There are other things you can use for her, let me know if you want suggestions.
