| teeth cleaning When we adopted our dog, he had bad teeth, grade 4. We eventually got him down to a 2. He had his teeth cleaned under sedation and had some lumps removed one month ago. Since then and prior to the procedure we have brushed his teeth daily but he has developed plaque again. His breath is odor free since the cleaning and has stayed odor free. Can anyone recommend anything to help with prevention of plaque? I use CET enzymatic toothpaste, my dog gets a CET chew daily, and I try to have him chew on raw bones. I am considering routine anesthesia free cleaning but this could be expensive and does not make sense since I just had his teeth cleaned under anesthesia one month ago. I cannot change my dog's diet since he has pancreatitis and needs to be on a special diet. |

| I got the same problem with my Golden. He always gets tartar on his canine teeth, even shortly after professional cleaning. I am planning on trying Dr. George's Plaque Blast. A spray that they now carry at Petsmart. I figure, can't hurt to try. I don't want to have my boy sedated too many times.

| My old golden had plaque on her teeth at 14, and the vet did not want to put her under to clean them. Our breeder suggested plain safety hoofs for her to chew on. They worked wonders and at the end of a month her teeth were a lot better. Our agility trainer recommends Leba III, and it worked very well. My current 2, get the hooves and love them, their teeth are nice and white |

| Oh, just read that your boy has pancreatitis. Well, I think then you have to wait with sprays/hoofs or other things your Golden could ingest. It would make the pancreatitis a lot worse.
