Thumbs up Details for Westminster watching

Thought I'd post this here FYI. I know at least one dog from GRF (Lushie) will be shown at Westminster.

America's Dog Show
The Westminster Kennel Club
137th Annual All Breed Dog Show

New York, NY

New in 2013!
Judging in the breeds will take place during the day (8am-6pm) on Monday (Hound, Toy, Non Sporting and Herding breeds) and Tuesday (Sporting, Working and Terrier breeds) at Piers 92/94 (West 55th Street and the West Side Highway). For a listing of the breeds in each Group, please click here.

Groups, Junior Showmanship Finals and Best In Show will be judged Monday and Tuesday evenings at Madison Square Garden (West 33rd and Seventh Avenue)

Monday at 8 pm: Hound, Toy, Non-Sporting and Herding Groups
Tuesday at 7:30 pm: Junior Showmanship Finals, Sporting, Working and Terrier Groups, followed by Best In Show

LIVE TELEVISION COVERAGE:
Monday, February 11, 8pm-11pm ET, Live on CNBC
Tuesday, February 12, 8pm-11pm ET, Live on USA Network
*Please note: Television coverage in the Pacific Time zone is delayed for that time zone and is from 8pm-11pm PT both nights.

LIVE and COMPLETE steaming video of breed judging: Westminster will produce live coverage via streaming video on its website of all of the breed judging in each of the 187 breeds and varieties. Since 2005, breed judging highlights have been carried on the website on streaming video on a delayed basis, but this year, for the first time, this important part of the show will be covered live and in its entirety with real-time posting on 2013 Dog Show - News, Events, Finalists, Dog Breeds & Awards - WestminsterKennelClub.org. Shortly after its live presentation, that streaming video will then be permanently available for viewing on the website for those who might not have had the opportunity to view it live or for those who just want to see their favorite breeds in competition once again. Watch the website for details. The Westminster Kennel Club | Latest News: WKC Streaming Video: Live and Complete in 2013

I've heard that one of the best things about Westminster is that it's a benched show and you can go to the benching area and see the dogs up close. How's it going to work with the breed judging at the Piers but group judging at the Garden? The Piers are a significant distance from the Garden. Does anyone know if there's still going to be a benching area and where it will be?

Is anyone from the forum going to the show to watch? I'm thinking about going, but my husband isn't interested. It would be fun to meet up with people, versus being all alone!!

I'd be interested in the bench Q presented above too.

I found this http://www.infodog.com/prm/491/prm491.pdf (pp. 4 & 5) that explains the new benching procedure.

ETA I am looking forward to the video once it is online.

Lushie looks very regal. Sydney looks like she's very relaxed. She's from California(?) Would she have been flown in or do they drive across country?

I had never seen Sydney in person, and thought she was stunning.

I watched the video of the Goldens at Westminster and clapped for Lush as she made her way around the ring. She is a gorgeous girl and you must have been so proud of her. What a dream come true!

She was cute, but very tired out from the excitement of Time Square and midtown Manhattan. She socialized with all of NYC for six days, and had the time of her life. She even got kisses from the guys on Gossip Girl!
