You could also go hang out at the Palm Springs show in January. I am sure you will see all sorts of set ups and most people love to share about their homes away from home.
I have a friend who has a Sprinter, not a motor home that has built-in crates, a couch and a few other amenities. She usually stays in a hotel and just uses the vehicle for day trips and transport. A few weeks ago we had seven dogs situated comfortably in the vehicle which is equipped with a generator for A/C.
