Tugg is coming along nicely in obedience, still though has some impulse and control issues, (zoomies in particular at inappropriate times.) Heeling is coming along nicely, his stand stay is perfection, and his sits and downs are good too. I've given up agility, our obedience instructor and I agree it isn't helping our obedience training, and also because physically I don't think I am able to do agility. I have a pretty significant history of back/neck issues, just had a cervical MRI and it appears that there is some pretty bad disc degeneration above and below the fusion I have in my neck, not sure what will happen, I am hoping I don't need more surgery. Anyway, obedience is it for me for now at least, which is fine, obedience is and always be my first love.

A golden that can do a stand stay at less than a year old is a true gem! Way to go Tugg!!
I'm sad you aren't going to do agility, but I sure do understand the physical issues involved. If you do think of taking some private lessons, I know just the person for you

I know you do. Maybe in the spring. To be honest, he would work with anybody. I would love to hand him off and say, have at it. No doubt he has tremendous ability, just an owner who at the moment is very limited in any physical ability. This **** neck is giving me fits, apparently the degeneration is pretty extensive, both above and below the fusion. And since the fusion is disks 3, 4 and 5, my whole neck is pretty well shot. Not sure what it means in the long run for me, but it doesn't sound good.

I'm so sorry to hear about your painful neck.
Hmmm, with agility out of the picture for now, what about trying the easy on the c-spine field work?

So sorry to hear about the neck problems . . . it does sound like a worry but Tugg sounds like he's really coming along with obedience.
