The other thing I was looking for - even though I know that there's different opinions on this. When the puppies did the stop-drop-nap, I looked at the ones who did the full frog. Bertie and one of his brothers did this every single time. The breeder laughed and said she kinda looks for this as well as far as looking for a dog with good hips. Her husband was joking and said it means the pup either has excellent hips or absolutely no hips.

I'm interested to see this. Zoe did this as a pup & actually for quite awhile and I was a little concerned that maybe she had hip issues. I was told not to worry . . . some do that . . . but not that it might be a good thing.

Talking with friends where I train... they like to see the frogger thing.

I think overall though the opinion is it really doesn't mean anything.

Congratulations on your new puppy. He is really adorable and the pictures of Jacks and Bertie are so sweet.

I'm not superstitious, but I'm wondering.....

If I named Bertie something like -

"My Way's the High Way"

or

"I'll do it My Way"

or

"My Way Bertram"

Or something similar -

I really hope that doesn't mean he will turn into a roadrunner as he grows up. o_O

Yesterday, he had his mind fixed on going under a downstairs couch whether we liked it or not. The floor beneath needs to be vacuumed out badly and there was NO WAY I wanted the pup who sleeps on my bed with me at night lounging in who knows what under that couch. o_O!!!!

So I blocked the opening to under the couch off with a few suitcases, etc.

And for the next hour he either lounged with his head poked through a crack between suitcases with his butt sticking out in a very definite "It's me against the world!" attitude. Or he would sleep with his brother or play with his toys and keep returning to the couch to see if he could wiggle through that hole. Like it got bigger in his absense. LOL.

Yet this same puppy was put down in my room this afternoon to spend his first whole afternoon alone - and he did great. No barking, fussing, and peeing.

He's fine as long as he doesn't want to do something else.

I don't know . . . I'd feel like I was tempting fate to choose one of those names. He sounds very determined.

Never name a pup something you're not willing for it to live up to. That's why I didn't name Flip "Gimme the Bird"

Oh... another name that occurred to me today as I mopped up half a gallon of water after he decided it wasn't enough that he knocked and danced in his little bowl, but he had to dance in his brother's big and just refilled bowl of water and knock it over. In my room. Water all over the floor. Thankfully it is tile floor in that area, but erk.

X's Dances in Water

Or

X's Water Bowler

LOL
