Socks!

Chloe's favourite toy, believe it or not, are her socks! I tie 4 together and she loves them - they are nice and soft for her mouth and she loves to play tug-of-war and also simply carries them. I buy her lovely pink and lilac ones!

What a great idea! Samson loves everyones socks. Maybe if we bought him some like that, we could get him to leave ours alone.... And he finds them anywhere. We think we've picked up all socks in the house, and he'll come into the room carry one in his mouth.

I might just go out and buy him some tomorrow.

Rick

Harvey too loves socks, he has a pair of my husbands that he plays with, however as a cautionary tale, a collegue at work who also has dogs had one of her boys swallow a pair (Lord only knows how) and it cost her £800 and him a massive operation to retrieve them. I therefore make sure Harvey doesn't get his hands on my "little" socks which he could swallow more easily

Give it a go Rick - I was told its because they are 'bird' dogs and so carrying socks is like carrying a bird to them! It stopped Chloe stealing our socks too! Samson must have blue ones!!

I think my son has a pair of blue baseball socks from last season......he got extra pairs, so some of them weren't even used.....

I think that'll be a project for the morning......

And Maddy, I'll keep that in mind and see if there's a way I can make it work and not have to worry about him swallowing them....

Harvey never has all of them in his mouth, and I think the socks that were swallowed were balled, but still, I'm very watchful of him with them

We have this, too. And, Lola loves socks. I have found missing matches that I thought were gone forever. Now that Lola is in the house, the matching of socks is complete. A friend of mine that was raised with GR said that his dad had trained one of them to get clothes out of the dryer and put them in the basket. Unbelievable. Lola could do that possibly. But, putting the clothes in the basket...No. She would probably run off with them.
