| Best Toys While You are at Work Hi! I'm trying to get a list of some of your favorite toys to pull out for your dog while you are at work. I want to make sure I have a good assortment when we get our dog so it's not bored all day! I'm thinking a Kong for sure--what size though? Also Nylabones are a must. Anything else? Thanks!

| Antlers are great. Here is a link that is a great place to get some. Michigan Antler Art - LARGE ANTLER CHEWS It helps to have as many kongs as you can, and keep them filled and frozen. I have the regular red ones, but the larger black ones would be fine too. Many times instead of kongs, I just fill cleaned off marrow bones with banana or pumpkin and freeze those. If I have to leave Cookie for some time, I will give her one to clean out while I am gone. She isn't a big chewer, but some other dogs might have a problem with a bone. Cookie has never given nylabones more than a passing lick. I bought every type they make too. ![]() I am with Cookie much of the time during the day, and I can tell you that she normally just sleeps though! |

| We don't leave Mosby anything put a KONG while we're not home. He has both mediums and larges, and we keep them stuffed with a variety of things and frozen. We'd worry too much about anything else being a choking hazard.... Last edited by Mosby's Mom; 02-15-2012 at 02:31 PM. Reason: Spelling |

| Thanks everyone! I originally would have thought of only one Kong---maybe a couple are in order? I didn't realize dogs chewed Antlers like that! Do they splinter?

| Oh man...Skye is a HUGE chewer and has redone all our baseboard woodwork, but I just can't stomach the idea of antlers. In addition to being a Golden nut, I'm a deer freak . She trashes the XXL rawhide bones in less than 2 days. I buy raw bones from the butcher with marrow, and if they're thick enough they'll last about a week, but she even manages to fracture these into four or five pieces eventually. She won't even look at a Kong no matter what I put into it. Same with Nylabones. Weird.
