Advice on Breeder in NJ and WV

Hi all! This is my first time posting. I am currently looking into a few different breeders and I have narrowed it down. Does anyone know anything about or have any experience with Penny Lane Goldens in NJ or Newman Goldens in West Virginia? I am torn and want to make the right decision. Just a bit of background, this dog is for my son who is High Functioning Autistic so I want everything to be and go as perfect as it can. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

I would be running from Newman's Goldens. Many missing health certifications.
On just their current Breeding Bolt/Sophie pairing-
Sophie has no verifiable health certifications at all.
Bolt they list as having "Perfect Clearances" but his eyes are out of date (they should be done annually) and he is completely missing his elbow certification. Orthopedic Foundation for Animals

That is a lot missing and a lot of risk that comes with a $1700-1950 price tag. Based on the value offered, $600-800 would be more appropriate pricing but still they would be riskier puppies from a health standpoint.

I don't know Penny Lane personally but I have watched some of their dogs and those have had health certifications when I checked. If you have possible puppy parent names we can help you check.

Here are some images that might help you understand health certifications better.

And worse- jmo- is the presence of the Winklers/White Dove in Sophie's pedigree. Maybe these folks don't know their dogs' history but nonetheless,

I too would suggest never looking back. The whole 'pay us extra and you too can be a breeder' is just such a scam. And these puppies are overpriced for what you get.

I tried to find the Penny Lane website but could not. If you supply reg names we can scope it out!

Thank you so much for that info! I kind of had a bad feeling about Newman Goldens. I couldn't really find anything out there about them at all. I kept coming back to Penny Lane Goldens. I honestly don't know the names of the dogs she is breeding this time. I just sent her an email to ask her if she could provide me with the information. I have spoken to her (Beryl) on the phone and she was very helpful, knowledgeable, full of information. Doesn't require a deposit until the puppies are 2 weeks old. Her thinking is how can you put a deposit on something that doesn't exisist yet. When I hear back from her I will definitely reply to the post with the information she gives me. The charts you posted are definitley very helpful!!!!
I live in PA (outside of Allentown area) and was looking for something within my area that is reputable. I had found another breeder called Ice Wind Goldens, but their prices ranged from $3500 to $5500! Penny Lane just happened to catch my eye out of all the ones I have looked into and I keep coming back to her!

http://www.goldenretrieverforum.com/...dens-nc-1.html (Ever heard of "Import Goldens" in NC?)
I had to do a little check on the Winklers..... what a nightmare. Reading the Ripoff Reports was like really bad drama/language/insanity.

I must not have been thinking- Beryl Scaggs (penny Lane) is totally reputable.

Penny Lane has gorgeous goldens. I know two personally who are outstanding dogs who passed all their clearances and live in my area.

Thanks Ljilly28! I do feel confident about getting our golden from Penny Lane. I guess I just want to hear some feedback from anyone who would know more about them or who have dealt with them personally. I had posted their website in hopes that someone would look through the Girls and Boys she has and also give some feedback. I am unsure which ones she will be breeding for this litter. I did reach out to Beryl earlier today to find out. It would be nice to see who the mommy and daddy are! I have not heard back from her yet. But again here is their page. Any other input would be greatly appreciated.
Oh and I have knocked Newman Goldens off the list.

Hi theere. I have 2 dogs from Pennylane and they are 'The Best" They are 3 and 4 years old. Beryl is wonderful to work with. Always quick to answer questions that come up. I know many others with Pennylane dogs and they feel the same way. I get stopped all the time when people see them to comment on their appearances. Then they go on about their personalities. These dogs have become part of me and my family. PM me if you have any questions. Best of luck

Thanks Winniesmom for responding. I tried to PM you, but it said I need at least 15 posts before I can PM someone and I only have 4 so far haha. So this is what I wrote to you in that PM LOL....

Thank you for responding about Penny Lane Goldens. I am really excited about getting one of her Goldens. I just wanted to get as much feedback as possible. I already spoke to her after sending the questionnaire back. I know she said she hopes to breed for the next litter around February/March. I did send her an email last week asking if she happened to know which dogs she will be breeding so I can see their pictures and also if she knew of any trainers that specifically work with training for Autism , but I have not heard back from her.
We just can't wait to welcome our new family member and have our fingers crossed all goes well! We are super excited! And all the Goldens on her page are gorgeous as are yours from what I can see!!
