Hello,
I am looking for a reputable breeder of Goldens in the Southeast. I live in Atlanta but am willing to travel to find a healthy, lovable companion. Can anyone make recommendations? Thank you so much!!
The AGRC has a breeder list but you should still look at and verify all clearances on any litter you consider.
You want, at a minimum, hips, elbows (not prelims on either), cardiac by cardiologist (ends w C-VPI not P-VPI) and eyes within the last 12 months, and any DNA is nice. If the dam is a carrier by DNA for anything, you should only consider litters whose sire is verified by DNA to be clear of that disease.
There are litters bred in your area, I PM'd you of one I know has all clearances in place and would be a safe bet. Any others you find you should verify on your own, or post here and someone here can do it for you.
Not sure how long you want to travel, if Robin's suggestions do not work out, you can contact Runnymede kennels in pass Christian, MS. Betsy has a litter due this month.
