There is someone in the Dallas area with a litter of pups from the Gold-Rush kennels listed on Craigslist. The momma dog is only 13 months old (9 months at breeding). He seems to think he is a very good breeder "We are no different than any breeders in this area. We are all about improving the breed"

$1500 for a puppy from an underage momma ... only has clearance for hips & elbows for Sire, mom of course is not old enough. He's quite arrogant about the quality of his pups.

Do you think Gold-Rush would be interested in this information??

The male is 26 months and has hips and elbows.
Scout N The Rockies SR81715905
He is not listed on K9Data but his mom and dad are.

I'm trying to find something on the female... I did find a breeder in Colorado "Golden Jewel" but don't know if that's where she came from. Poor baby was breed on her 1st heat, she's going to have a long tough life ahead of her :crying: Paparikas Golden Jewel SR77588201 (07-15)

He is quite proud that they are AKC but can't help but wonder if you can register the puppies. He's really quite a jerk.

Well alright then.... so Gold-Rush probably has no use for the info. Sure wish I could figure out where they got the female. I just can't imagine breeding a 9 month old puppy!

There are lots of back yard breeders in this area that have no clue about clearances. At least they are honest about what they are selling and usually ask between $300-$600. This guy acts like he is doing you a favor. So sad.

He sent a pic of the reg. papers but zoomed in on just the name and number. I can't help but think both dogs were purchased on limited registration. I sent him a txt to find out who the parents were, it's a nice looking pup in the pic and was concerned he was flipping a pup from a local breeder... not that I'm looking and certainly wouldn't purchase a $1500 puppy off of Craigslist.

As soon as I saw how young the female was I told him I wasn't interested but wished him luck. I got 10 more txt from this guy trying to tell me how good a breeder he was, how good his dogs were and kept emphasizing all the champions in the line.

Well I was going to attach the picture he posted but he's already taken his add down. How strange.

This is really sad, I'm sure Gold Rush would not be happy about this.

You could "Flag" the ad, Craigslist prohibits puppy sales on their site-

https://www.craigslist.org/about/prohibited

pet sales (re-homing with small adoption fee ok), animal parts, stud service
If he was as reputable of a breeder he says he is, he would never be advertising on there or any other site, he wouldn't have to. That's a huge red flag IMO.

Probably why he revised his add... removed the cost. He's very proud of those clearances, too bad he doesn't know how to read them. I did send a memo to Gold-Rush kennels. He says he paid $3500 for each dog and they came from PA.

The picture of the reg. numbers was on pinkish paper... that's limited reg. right? Going to have some really unhappy people when they try to register those puppies.

Not sure why this disturbs me so much. Not sure what bothers me more, scamming people or breeding a 9month old puppy.

When we were looking for cockapoo puppies for my daughter, we saw this same thing over and over. We found out there are real breeders who regularly troll for these bad breeders (bad people!) and shut them down. It makes me furious!

he took a picture of registration but limited the view to name and number only... it was on pinkish paper. The date (07/15) was just after the reg. number. When I asked if the date was corrected he didn't seem to think this was a problem. He felt sure she would receive clearances later but doubt if he will ever get them done. He's actually getting buyers at $1500. for these puppies and think he bought the male that already had hip & elbows. He considers the clearances as validation for the high price.
He said they paid $3500. from breeder in PA. The gold-rush kennels I found was in NJ but sent them a memo anyway. I can't figure out where the female came from. That poor baby will have a horrible life and that makes me really angry & sad.

The 7-15 reflects she has already had a litter which would have been entered in the AKC stud book July 2015 but she was in fact born April 2013

I have the dam's pedigree, will post to k9data--no gold-rush in the 4-generation pedigree & a single clearance amongst all of the dogs listed. Here is the pedigree http://www.k9data.com/pedigree.asp?ID=785458, breeder is out of Idaho selling puppies for $600, nows seems to be on the English Cream bandwagon

Perhaps the 9 month thing is inaccurate. Or perhaps the # posted belongs to the dam of the bitch who is 9 months old at breeding.
Message me his contact info and I'll ask him about his litter, maybe he'll send reg info for the sire and dam and we can solve the mystery. Or ask a friend to inquire-
Full registration has a bluish purple background, limited is orange.

The mom's reg number is SR7768201 (not 88201) but didn't realize what the date after the reg. number meant.

To the credit of Gold-Rush Kennels they actually replied to my email. Ann doesn't think it's one of her dogs but said she was unable to make contact and requested a copy of the add to try again.

I should have picked up on the color of the paper.

SR7768201 is not a valid number; if the registered name of the dam is Paparikas Golden Jewel, the # is SR775882/01 w/ the 07/15 after the number indicating she's already had a litter. The sire of the litter in question has Gold-Rush behind him http://www.k9data.com/pedigree.asp?ID=785464

If Gold-Rush is going to go after this individual or pursue the matter, they have many more litters just like this out there, especially in PA and then there is the connection to the Snyder's out of Kansas https://www.morelaw.com/verdicts/case.asp?n=09-3319&s=KS&d=45448 who list Gold-Rush Ragtime Cowboy on their site as a sire

Just got another email from Ann johnson / gold-rush goldens

She writes
I think I found the person who let him use her male. She's burned this bridge... I am working on this today to see what I can find out.

Good for her, maybe she can find out where the mom came from and teach this young man what it is to be a responsible breeder.

Would you believe the jerk just sent me a txt! Guessing he wasn't happy. I do not intend to engage with this guy.

Latest story is Gold Rush sold a male (not to this guy) to a lady for her children's 4-h project. She contacted someone named Desaree ?? that sold him 3 puppies on a limited registration for pets. He is flipping puppies.

Oh my gosh I just read the thing about the Snyder's how horrible! Those people and their dog, what a terrible thing to happen.

If you have a rescue organization in your area you may be able to contact them and see what they can do to help. It certainly seems like this breeder is unethical at the very least. A 9 month old puppy should never be bred. If he has multiple litters and is breeding a lot of dogs he may be crossing some legal boundaries as well that they could shut him down for. Too many dogs on premise for ordinance, kennels inappropriate, underfeeding, not paying taxes on the extra income from selling the dogs, etc. Might be worth a call to animal services just to have them checked out.

1goldenbaby4me as it turns out he is not breeding at all... he purchased 3 puppies for $800 and is flipping them for $1500. These pups were sold to him with a limited registration so when the people that buy those "AKC" pups and try to register them, they are going to be very dissapointed. The mom that I thought was 9 months was my mistake, she had been previously bred in 7/15... I thought this was her birth date, my mistake.

Just confirms what this forum says every day.... purchase from a quality breeder.

I get angry every time I think of JAG. Even in TN , where I lived at the time, when the 'story' was that he'd broken loose near a KOA, and could be anywhere, I went to every campground within 50 miles of Chattanooga and posted posters. I believe others across the US did the same. It took me 4 days- and all for a lie.

These things happen more often than people realize. My breeder had a breeder's agreement with another breeder, a show quality puppy as a stud fee. The breeder ended up selling the puppy because is did not grow into what she wanted, supposedly to a reputable person. Years later, somebody contacts my breeder and tells her she thinks one of her puppy's is being used in a puppy mill in Japan.

My breeder had to hire a private investigator, found the dog in horrible shape, he had probably sired hundreds of puppies. It took her thousands of dollars, the private investigator, and some help with friends in the states, and three months to get the dog back. It then took another year to nurse him back to health. She never really knew if the breeder she gave the puppy to knew who she was selling to or not.

I remember reading Jackson's story years ago in the GRN. It was heartbreaking. I was so glad she was able to get her boy back. It shows how much she cares about her dogs. She literally went to the ends of the earth and back to save him.

What is wrong with people!? That is so sad, I'm really glad she got him back. I have no idea why this guy is taunting me, he is still sending me txt trying to get me to engage. Honestly, he has way too much time on his hands.

The story of Jag is heartbreaking for all involved. I would be crushed for the loss of the dog, really angry for all the lies and the handler lost his income. Nothing good came out of this for anyone.

I feel bad for the handler that left the dogs in the truck and the power went out. I could never be a handler... if they couldn't come into the hotel room with me I would pitch a sleeping bag on the floor of the truck. That's just me.

I'm staying off of Facebook, can't handle the drama!

Is the guy threatening you at all? Is there anyway your address can be traced to your phone number? Just ignore him or block him.

Yes, there are a lot of horrible stories, but the best we can do is learn from the history - that is part of the importance of sharing these stories.

In the stories of Jag, Jackson and even Bond - there is the good of golden people getting together and helping these dogs in anyway they can.

In the tragedy this summer with the show dogs, it has brought many people together in discussing ways to educate and prevent this type of thing from happening again. Maybe even creating new AKC rules to protect dogs in the future.
