Does this breeder seem reputable?

Hi all,

I am currently looking for reputable breeders around my area. I live around the Newcastle area in NSW, Australia. I am happy to travel though to get a puppy from a reputable breeder if someone has an alternative recommendation.

This is a website of a breeder nearby. I haven't contacted them yet, as I was hoping for the opinions of those with far more knowledge than me.

Standndeliva Golden Retrievers - NSW Australia

Thanks in advance!!

One thing I have noticed lately in all my breeder research is that most breeders have horribly designed websites! I don't say it to be mean, and I know they are all most likely busy with more important things like showing dogs, competing, and taking care of pups, but it is like they are all stuck in the 90's with how their sites are laid out and designed.

That aside, they do say clear eyes and heart, and give some hip and elbow scores. I would like to see links to k9data.com and offa.org to verify the clearances. It looks like they show their dogs so that is a good sign they are breeding to the standard and not just to move puppies.

Take all I say with a grain of salt as I am no expert and merely just another who is/was researching a lot of breeders.

I got my two from a great breeder in Old Bar, I live in sydney. Let me know if you would like any details. She shows her dogs, and only has a couple of litters a year. Full clearances and aust champions throughout carefully paired breedings. Dog Mammal Vertebrate Dog breed Canidae
this is Bear at 1 year (he's 1.5 now) and he is one of her darker dogs. Dog Mammal Vertebrate Dog breed Canidae
this is Stormy at 9 weeks, Dog Mammal Vertebrate Dog breed Canidae
and this is recently at 4 months. This litter was very light coloured, her champion father is the same colour. Hope this helps, it's about a few hours drive for you. Her dogs live in the house, no kennels. She chooses the right pup for you and sends daily updates from the birth.

Have you had a look at Dogs Online

http://www.dogzonline.com.au/breeds/puppies.asp

There are listings of puppies which are available now, plus breeder information and dog profiles with their pedigrees. It could be worth a look. It also has information on dog shows and trials, you might find it interesting go to a show if one is nearby and have a look at the dogs and talk to breeders.

Be aware that these days you don't have to limit yourself to your own area.
We got both our goldens from interstate as we were very particular about the right clearances as well as being available at the right time for my holidays from an excellent breeder.
We went on a short holiday to pick up Tia and Hudson arrived on a Virgin flight.

I agree that Dogz Online is a fantastic resource:) I would start there.
Good luck with your search.
