Hi there does anyone have experience or input on gazn goldens?

Gazn Golden Retrievers, PA Golden Retriever Breeders, Puppies, Pennsylvania

They have bred: Syzygy Iceni Warrior and Gazn Bagpipes and Ballads

I grew up with a golden but have never bought one myself so this is my first experience choosing a breeder. You all seem to have a wealth of knowledge so any input is very helpful.

I think you need to ask some more questions and talk further with this breeder. I've just pointed out some talking points below.

The sire is 9 years old and they just had his clearances done. They must have been done for this breeding. He passed with a fair rating on his hips and did not pass elbows (grade 1 in left elbow). His owners put the elbow info on K9data so I like that they are forthright with the info. Have they mentioned this to you? I would also request to see his heart clearance. It was also done this past summer according to the date input in k9data. I would want to see that as well as an updated eye clearance. Ideally, you'd like to see these on the OFA website.

Her sire isn't linked up to her page but his clearances are good. Her dam, SYZYGY KREME DE LA KREME TORY, doesn't appear to have an ofa hip clearance but has an ofa elbow clearance. Their website states she had an OVC hip clearance. Ask why both weren't rated by same registry.

The dam of the litter to be is a carrier for one of the forms of PRA and icthyosis. I would want to know if the sire has been tested. PRA makes dogs go blind. If the sire is also a carrier, then 25% of the litter will be affected. Icthyosis can be very unsightly...

I have known the people at Gazn Goldens for many years. You will not meet anyone more honest and trustworthy. Not every puppy or pedigree is right for everyone, and the people at Gazn Goldens will be the first to tell you this. I know for a fact that Gazn Goldens focus on health, longevity, breed standard, temperament and brains. I for one would contact any breeder to form my own opinion.
