Performance breeder in IL, WI, IA, IN

I'm on the search for my second Golden. I'm searching for a quality breeder who has litters that are great pets and also do well in the performance rings. I do rally, agility and obedience and thinking about tracking (in the spring/summer when it is nicer!).

I had a litter all picked out but the ultrasound shows only two pups so I'm out. SO bummed.

Does anyone know of a good possibility for the spring/summer of 2013? (I could go sooner too)

Thanks ..... Donna

I would extend your search to include Michigan. I highly recommend Topmast (a Gaylan's Co-breeder) based in Otisville, Michigan, Wynwood in Hastings, Michigan and Glenbrier
In IL there is Topbrass, MVP and High Times (it goes under Miners Kennels). In Wisconsin there is Webshire and Topflight. Highroller is in Indiana.
Other folks might have other suggestions.

If you want more info on Topmast you can PM me.

My advice, find the litter you want without worrying about where it is. I'm in Louisiana and the litter for me was in CT.

I would contact Pat Quinn of Everlore to see who her boy Stoney has been bred to.

I was going to suggest Pat Quinn, Everlore Goldens as well. I had the pleasure of seeing Stoney at the National! If she doesn't know of a litter, I am sure she can point you in the right direction.

White River Golden Retriever Club should have a puppy referral program.

Good luck

Tanbark is in Wisconsin. Your area is a traditional hotbed for performance Goldens.

I know a few of these breeders personally and these are all good options for what you are after. Topmast just had a litter, so it may be a while before Pat has more puppies as she only has a couple of girls. Renee at Wynwood is awesome--she has been in Goldens a long time and consistently produces good workers. She knows the pedigrees she works with inside out and I am glad to consider her a friend--she is someone I talk to if I want the scoop on some of the oder dogs in my pedigrees. Deb at Glenbrier has some excellent working lines--going back to the Belevedere dogs out of Texas, which is where my Bonnie's dad is from. And she and her siblings definitely love to work. The Miners do not seem to be breeding much any more, but they have some really nice males, so if one of their boys has been used they may be able to point you to a litter. I do not know Webshire or Topflight's breeders personally but have met dogs of their breeding that are great workers.

Here's a nice breeding planned for late January/early February:

Four Lakes Goldens - Champion Line Golden Retrievers | Companion and Hunting Dogs | Golden Retriever Breeder | Madison, WI

Great pedigree behind this litter

Hmmm, I think I have to agree with you on this one, Barb (seeing as how it goes back to Clipper and his Dad, my avatar!) And of course I love the Tito man
