Hi Everyone,

This is my first post. I have trying to do research on choosing a reputable breeder. My plans for the pup are hunting and some hunt tests. I have been trying to find information on Tidewater Goldens in Guelph Ontario. All I can find is their material. I am more looking for information from people who have these dogs or no anything about them.

Any information you have would be greatly appreciated.

Mark and Mary have been breeding working dogs for quite a few years. Their boy Rowan was the sire of my last litter (from which the bad baby Wings came!) Their current litter is a Rowan litter, and he is a lovely boy. It is a repeat breeding and I know that pups from the first litter have done quite well in hunt work. You may have to ask to see hard copies of some clearance paperwork as like some of the older breeders Mark hasn't quite got on the "submit everything to the database" train, but in my experience the testing has been done.

If anyone else has any knowledge on this breeder it would be very helpful. I have talked with them and they seem genuinely nice. I also really like the dogs they have.

It's always nice to get multiple opinions, you're very smart to be doing your homework and making sure all the clearances are up to date on the litter you're interested in. For what it's worth, the reply you did receive here, from Sterregold, is valuable information as she has a sterling reputation on this forum. Her experience and personal knowledge of them would be enough for me to put them at the top of my list.
