If someone has any advice, I would really appreciate it.
My daughter, who is 15, came down with a viral infection last Thursday. Fever, runny nose, and a lot of coughing. Then, on Sunday night, broke out in horrible hives. Itchy, red and slightly raised. We went to the doctor on Monday and was told it was due to the virus, (viral hives), and could last up to 3 weeks, on and off.
I have never dealt with this before and she is miserable. I gave her a 1/4 dose of Benedryl, but she won't take anymore because she is adamant about doing her homework, (doesn't want to fall behind

), and if she gets sleepy, she can't concentrate. I know about oatmeal baths and aloe...and we're using ice, applied to the hives, and that seems to work, (very short term relief), ...but is there anything else anyone has used that did the trick?
They seem worse today

, (weather's really warmed up, so I'm sure that's not helping), so we're both desperate for the itching to stop, or at least be tolerable...
My daughter said to say thanks for any help...
