Vent-skateboarding with dog

There is this guy that lives in our neighborhood who (in the heat of the day, I might add) lets his dog pull him on a skateboard, in the bike lane, on a pretty busy street. Definitely not safe. The only times had seen him was when I was driving and it would irk me to NO end. I swear, I would complain to my boyfriend about it for the next 10 minutes.

Today I was walking Vito and saw the guy again. The dog lunged toward Vito, although said dog was in the street and we were on the sidewalk with shrubbery in between. The guy then ran over the dog's paw/leg with the skateboard. The guy didn't fall, but the dog let out a big ol' yelp. Poor thing. When he was looking at the dog's paw I told him that he should really reconsider having the dog pull him on his skateboard. All he did was shrug and CONTINUE ON HIS WAY!

Vent over.

Some people are really stupid!!!! I have seen the skateboard thing going on. Also have witnessed people riding their bicycle with the dog running loose beside or behind them or worse yet tied to the bike with a leash.- the dog's tongue hanging on the ground but it still tries to keep up. It is illegal where I live. I had a neighbour who would stop his car - let his two dogs out in the middle of the road and then drive off with his dogs chasing wildly behind him. Also illegal. Never mind illegal - what is it doing to the dog???? Another big one is people walking their dogs off leash on a bikepath - illegal and dangerous!!!What is WRONG with people????? Blows my mind!!

sounds like the people that were riding in their car and had their dog on the leash walking beside it driving really slow. The dog was a big mixed breed and I guess they are just too lazy to walk the dog or wanted to stay cool.

I saw a guy skateboarding with a tiny little border collie PUPPY once. Poor thing was running full tilt on the sidewalk with his tongue hanging out trying to keep up. I stopped my truck and talked to the kid and he said his mom had told him to go do it. So I went and had a chat with his mom about the dangers of doing that to a puppy. She honestly had NO idea it was bad for him so at least she listened. Seriously, do people research how to raise a puppy AT ALL??

This sounds like a person that is just interested in his own fun and not the health or well being of his dog.
