Pity Party

Can I have a do over button PLEASE!

Saturday I rolled my bad ankle really badly, it still hurts, and is turning pretty colors.

Monday on my way to work I get a flat tire. I have to park about 4 blocks from where I work I can't get to the usual parking area. I walk in (on my bad ankle) call AAA walk back to my car to meet them get the tire changed, walk back, then when I leave work to go home and walk back to my car...again, it is raining.

Tuesday I go out to the barn to ride my horse. I get the news that my horse will have a new home. Ok I made the decision to re home him (not sold) but this is my dream horse so this still is not easy. He should be leaving for GA soon. My last ride was last night. No point putting my heart through any more. I asked to be informed before he goes so I can say good bye. This is the end of my riding days... I cried all the way home from the barn.

I get home, Teddi got into something or was bit by something and looked like a Char Pei. My husband did not notice her swollen face. She seemed ok not having serious complications, so we gave her some benedryl. She is MISERABLE, from the itch. We actually had to give her more than a standard dose to give her relief. The swelling went down but she is covered in hives and you can see them. Wish I knew what happened. It was AT HOME! I don't want it to happen again. She still is covered this AM. I am going to call the vet when they open. See if there is something better she should have.

IT'S ONLY WEDNESDAY AM!!! I am exhausted. I can't take much more of this week.

Ann

Oh, what a week so far. So sorry it is not going so well - hope that Teddi is better very soon and that the rest of the week is much better. Hang in there!

Aw, it'll get better. Take a ton of pics of your horse...it might be hard to look at them now, but in awhile (weeks, months, years) you'll be happy you have them.

Whenever something crappy happens to me, I take a day or two *no more than three* and just let myself be miserable. I lock myself away from everyone but Ranger, eat comfort food like shepherd's pie, pizza, ice cream, whatever and don't let myself feel guilty about eating it. After the 2-3 days of being unhappy, I go out and do specific activities that make me feel good - run, hike, brushing Ranger, whatever it takes to get my mind open and the body feeling better. After THAT, I start looking at ways to overhaul my thinking and start thinking - "what can I do to make myself a better person?" or "How is this an opportunity?"

Maybe you can put all the money you'll now be saving from not riding into a special savings account. At the end of the year, it'll be time for that vacation you've always wanted but were never able to take. Something to turn the sad/unhappy part into something good...
