Anyone collect Beam Bottles?

I just finished photographing 28 of them from Mom's estate. My plan was to keep the 5 I like the best, and sell the rest.

I'm very unhappy about how depressed the market has come for these now. As I understand it, over-production has depressed market prices terribly.

I've got them dating all the way back to 1957.

They are incredibly beautiful though. Genuine Regal China.

Here's a picture of the lot:

I haven't decided yet

The cat and the rabbit are at the top of the list. And probably the Eagles.

I would keep the elephants and donkey political type as well - those probably can go up in value depending on the year they were produced.

hmmm I love the desk. : )...what are Beam Bottles?

(this must be hard for you, I'm sure everything has a memory attached)

Jim Beam Bottles. When new, they are filled with various types of Whiskey.

Some of them had Whiskey over 40 years old in them, which I had to drain. You are supposed to drain them (collectors want the bottles, not the whiskey). It was a pretty strong smell LOL

And there's that little issue of the law You can't sell Whiskey without a license, and the Feds DO bust people for this.

Yeah, it is hard to sell this stuff, but after thinking about it I realized that I don't need everything she ever collected. I've got some very nice items to remember her by, and plenty of photo's and memories The desk and the Grandfather Clock next to it are two of the items.

Not to mention it's just not possible. Both me and my sister are bursting at the seams at home right now.

I would give them a google and see which ones are most sought after/expensive and keep those.

They are all about the same, really. Older is not more valuable either.

It's all very odd.

Personally speaking, I'd keep the six I circled below/attached - and that's just simply based on what I'd want to see on my curio shelf -

*I collect perfume bottles, which I guess is my version of this.

Oh. If you hate politics - then I love the green bottle with the birds flying across. And the eagle one on the bottom left.
