tattoo....

Does anyone have a tattoo of their dog, dogs name, paw or anything like that?

I've always wanted to get a tattoo but have been waiting to find something that has meaning; not like all those lames who have tribals, stars, poems, etc (dont mean to offend anyone who has any, their just not me)

I was thinking of maybe dipping Jonas paws in paint and then putting them on paper and having an artist tattoo it on me with his name or bday or something?

or is that lame and over doing it?

I currently have 4 tattoos, and i plan to add more. Before Joey i have been planning on getting Jesse's paw print and his name on my ribs, close to my heart, but now im realizing im going to have alot of dogs and cats through my life, so now what im considering is a simple JJ with their paw prints and heart combined somwhow, and that one will be for my boys.

I also am hoping to add more pets in my future (dogs only), but Jona is my first so that kind of has a meaning.

I might just do a bigger paw and name with Jona and when I add more I'll make them smaller sorrounding the bigger one somehow.

I'm wondering if anyone else has done something like this before?

If I remember correctly, someone here does have a paw print tattoo. (Riddle, maybe...??)

I'm planning to get one, myself. I have to figure out a way to get Riley's actual paw print and I want it tattooed right over my heart. I'm procrastinating only because I know it's going to hurt. That's an awfully big paw print!

I already have two others - a celtic triskele with tribal art on my lower back and an ankh on my left ankle. I want the next one to have meaning, too (the triskele does - the ankh, I just thought it was neat) so naturally the next one will involve Riley.

Yah that sounds like it could be nice! The bond of 'first' pets is just so amazing, why not give em a lil tribute? lol

We've over come the puppy teeth and nail scratching (I'm still in that stage), I'm sure we can overcome 30 mins of needles

I'm wondering if I should do it now with his puppy paw or wait until he has his adult paw...

My daughter had a tattoo done on the side of her foot in memory of our first golden boy Ryder.
It's a paw print with Ryder written above. On the left side of the print is 1997 and on the right side of the print is 2007.
It's a really nice tattoo.

My hubby and I had tattoos done on our 20th Wedding Anniversary - we joke that if 25 years is Silver and 50 years is gold - then 20 years must be INK
These tattoos aren't animal related though.
Mine is on my ankle and is a crescent moon blowing out stars.
My hubbys is on his bicep and is his family's coat of arms.
Both are great tattoos done by an amazing artist.
I'm looking to get another one - just can't make up my mind what and where I want it.

I want one of a small paw print with an E in it behind my ear. I also want a cowboy hat with the words "Live fast, love hard, die young" over top of it and my cousins name underneath. We lost him almost 2 years ago at the age of 28 to an aging disease. I'm putting if off for 2 reasons - 1) I'm TERRIFIED of needles and 2) my fiance isn't huge on tattoos. They remind him of the ones that his great grandparents have from the Holocaust and it makes him uncomfortable. He said he thinks he can be okay with it if it's something that has meaning to me, though. Now if I could just get over the needles...

LOL - true!
I think the amount of pain really depends on where you're getting the tattoo. The one on my back didn't really hurt that much at all. The one on my ankle, however, hurt like hell. And I know that getting one on my chest isn't going to be a picnic. But I think it'll be worth it.

As soon as I get over the whole needle thing, I'll be getting one like this on my foot:
