Hey guys

I just saw this.

We are ok. The typhoon headed for us on Friday. Everything across the island was shut down for the day. It was surprising as there was no real hype for this one but turned out to be quite strong. It seemed is was pretty much a direct hit on us ( Hualien ). Lots of trees down around my area.

Buddy did well although had a hard time getting out to pee. He decided the best plan of action was to gloo his bummee on the road. It was dangerous and not the time for games! Anyway, we are both ok...

Thank you for thinking of us

Did anyone see the video of that hotel collapsing into the water in China? Wow, how does that happen!

Glad you're okay, Vic. I was worried about you two!

We have a series of typhoons every year and some are really hyped. Cat. 5 super typhoons. People go crazy preparing for the worst, expecting another longwang. For the past 2 years they have been big but nothing massive it seems. This one, honestly..I didnt really hear about it until about 2 days before. People talked about it in passing and said that it probably wouldnt be a big deal. I was shocked when my boss called me Thurs. night telling me all businesses were shut down across the island on Friday. Even Friday morning I wondered why...then in the afternoon I could definately see why. I was blown away ( not really...) that it was as big as it was. It actually scared me. Actually, Buddy and I almost pulled a Mary Poppins when he went out to pee. It was horrifying.

The southern part of the island got more rain and has a lot of flooding.

I just feel sorry for the poor trees

Thanks again for checking on us. Buddy thanks you too!

Hey Jo Ellen

The hotel that collapsed was here in Taiwan ( southern part )

How does that happen? Heck...good question! I think it was probably the land being so eroded from the flooding? Not sure but scary stuff heh?

Okay, I'm glad I didn't know that was in Taiwan or that I didn't see it right away when it happened. I saw it after Morokat passed and I knew you were okay. I would have really been worried then

I am glad that you and Buddy are ok. The news was really scary. I can remember one big hurricane that we were in and my old Ben had to go outside. So I got my slicker, his leash and went to the front yard. I grabbed onto a tree to be able to stand up and could feel that tree and the ground moving. And of course Ben just wanted to wander the yard like it was a regular day.
