Here are some details for now and I will try to answer everyones questions and send more later. I sent more pics to Kim... Our power has been out all morning I have all this company here and we are suppose to go out this afternoon...plus giving lots of attention to sky...I don't know how much time I will have today.
Here goes....
On Friday I went through two wild goose chases in some very remote areas of this county that lasted over seven hours. I was tired but yesterday managed to get my brother and his family to Cumberland Gap. I got really sick to my stomach, came home, laid down and got up an hour later at 6 pm. At 6:05 I got a phone call...woman said they had a golden retriever with black spots on her tongue. I was still asleep so it took me a minute but I said roll her over and see if there is a tattoo...she asked her name, I told her, she said the dog perked up when she said it. Said she didn't see a ttoo...so now I am thinking oh gosh here we go again. I told her she had to move hair, she said oh yeah I see it! It's 3....
Well then I screamed at that point I knew this was sky.
So heres the other part of the story,
Skylar showed up at Linda house yesterday morning, they think she was dropped off. Linda cleaned her, fed her and called Amber her best friend who lives nearby. Amber went to Linda's and said that does not look like a stray. Amber called her grandmother, described the dog and her grandmother told her about an ad in one of the papers which led her to me.
When I got there I had to look twice to make sure it was sky, she had lost so much weight. She was excited to see me but not overly excited. She jumped right in the car.
I had been carrying around 200.00 with me since this happened. I had spent some money with my brother yessterday so I had about 150.00 left and tried to give it to them, they would not take it and rather then press the matter (since all I wanted to do was get sky home), I just decided I would mail it or a gift card and if they didn't want it they could donate it to their favorite charity.
I have been posting both Linda and ambers name with Lindas address for everyone however I do have a seperate address for Amber and it is
Amber Smock
230
Tasha Lane
Tazewell, Tn 37879
If someone could put this on skys facebook page, I still do not know how to do that...
More to follow later, I have to go make food, lots of food, special food for sky, food for my company, food for the people we are going to visit later.
I wil post more later,
With all our love,
Cathy and Sky
and Storm who is beside himself that she is home...poor guy he doesn't realize he's been fixed.

By the eay I have heard nothing on the Bassett.
Sky has some what I think to be minor health issues and will be going to the vet first thing tomorrow. Our vet shares after hours calls with three other vets and our vet is not the one on call this weekend. I don't want her to be in a strange place right now and I know none of these issues are life threatening so we will wait until morning.
She is walking with a limp, looks like a pad problem, very skinny, drinking an awful lot of water, some dihharhea or however you spell that, has a few boil like bumps on her stomach. She is eating and chasing a tennis ball and earlier this mornig went for a nice walk.
Cathy

If you can find the info on the basset please post and WE WILL ALL KEEP LOOKING FOR HIM!!

Cathy,

Any stores in Tazewell that people like to go to or restaurants we may be able to buy gift cards in our area for them to use?

If the owners of missing dogs join the forum, it is so much easier to help them find their dogs.

What a miracle !!! It must have been a rough 13 days for that sweet girl. Sounds as if some lovin and good food should clear most of it right up though. Do let us know what the vet has to say. And, I really hope when all settles down to a dull roar, that you'll stick around ole GRF and become one of the "regulars". We all feel a vested interest in Sky for sure!!! Hugs all around from the Dallas crew.
