It’s pretty straightforward. Walker: somebody who walks. I enjoy walking, walk a lot, and any dog I own will log a lot of miles.

If you bet it meant Walker, Texas Ranger, or walker as in a professional dog walker, or walker as in a walking support, you’d be wrong. heh

My board name FeatherRiverSam is from the name I gave my first Golden, bridge girl Sammie. I live off the banks of this beautiful river in the Sierra Nevada mountains here in Northern California. It seemed fitting to name her after this beautiful river as I spent so much time on its banks fishing, hunting, camping, swimming, kayaking and hiking. I knew she'd love it which she did - we spent countless hours on the river together in all kinds of conditions and she never could get enough of it. She learned how to swim in it, retrieve in it, fish in it and hunt in it. She was my FeatherRiverSam.

The Middle Fork of the Lovely Feather River (just out my back door)

Just up river from my cabin

Just below my cabin with the train in the back ground

I was very lucky to have had such a great dog in such a wonderful area.

FRS- I want to be you neighbor! So jealous! Well, maybe only during the summer- aren't you getting 3 to 8 FEET of snow this weekend? Yikes! Fishing in the Sierra Nevadas is on my bucket list. Sam was a beautiful dog...

It's so interesting to read all of these, very cool idea!

My screen name is the name of a character that was in this story my dad used to tell me when I was little. I am of Native American decent so I think it had to do with our heritage/culture... I'm really not sure though. I don't even remember the original spellings of the character but I remember just loving it. So Cocodaminkie has been my screen name on everything ever since I can remember.
