Ohdish comes from always telling our first golden, Chaucer, "This is a good golden.... this is such a good golden" and well "this is" turned into "dishish" which turned into "dish" for short. So we'd end up saying things to him like "Oh Dishish - we love you" and "Oh Dish... where are you?"

Oh and there was also "Ohdisheeish" from Homer's Odyssey.

Hope that makes sense!

Hehe it's funny how names can manifest! This reminds me of my mom's chocolate lab "Echo" - we started calling her "Shhhmeco" then it turned into "Shmeckers" and now everyone in the family calls the poor dog "Schmecks" - from Echo??

My BFF (and old neighbour)'s dog is a Maltese X ShihTzu officially named "Tara", but I can't remember the last time she was ever called that! Everyone calls her "Chini", which, we can only figure out came from "Pooch-ini" / "Pooch"... none of us can figure out who started it or why it stuck!

Well, I am not the pack leader... butters is MY master! We are working on that thanks to this forum! My husband always teases me when I spoil the dogs and says "you must be the pack leader" in The Dog Whisperer's voice/accent...

And of course, I didn't have Koda yet when I joined this forum - I have always wanted to change but I am not sure if that is possible without creating an entirely new account... anybody know about that?

I'm pretty sure Mod's can change your name if you plead your case...not positive though! Mine sucks, and I wish I hadn't picked it - but I'm too afraid to try to change it because it's who "I am" on here, haha

I live in Fort Worth, Texas. Ft. Worth is also known as Cowtown, which goes back to the old cattle trail days.

From Wiki:

Fort Worth went from a sleepy outpost to a bustling town when it became a stop along the legendary Chisholm Trail, the dusty path where millions of cattle were driven North to market. Fort Worth became the center of the cattle drives, and later, the ranching industry. Its location on the Old Chisholm Trail, helped establish Fort Worth as a trading and cattle center and earned it the nickname "Cowtown."

Zeppelin is my dog's name (named for Led Zeppelin, the greatest band of all times IMO)...sometimes, i'm just so impulsive and dont want to use my precious brain power to try to come up with something more creative...that could take days!!

Had i know i'd become a GRF addict, i would have tried to come up with something more creative...tried being the important word there...seeing as i'm not at all creative.

My name is Nikki. I just LOVE this thread!! I've laughed so hard reading some of the meanings and thinking about what i thought they meant.
