My next name if I have to make one will be "GingerSnaps" It's a bit of a joke I was having a crummy night and promised to pick my friend up at work. Well he works as a door guy and there was a fundraiser for the Women's Rollerderby. He said that I would be awesome at it and should join and then he got all excited and goes, "I even know what your rollerderby name will be! Ginger...SNAPS!....BONES!" It was really funny and definitely made me smile even though I was grumpy.

Ardeagold is a combination of two things.

Ardea means heron in latin. We are LOADED with herons here, and our farm was named Ardea when we moved here.

Gold....well...you know. hahahaha!

Farbauti is Loki's mom in Norse mythology- my fiancé named Loki after the god of mischief since he was into everything and Farbauti kind of made sense to go with it

My mother called me "Doc" after the character in the Seven Dwarfs. I had secretly taught myself to read at an early age and would stay up at night reading the encyclopedia when my parents thought I was asleep. I finished the old World Book set before I started kindergarten. The name just stuck.

The rest of the name gets a little complicated.

Claire's Friends is the name of my Golden Retriever Rescue group. Claire was my first pound rescue. She was 12 years old and her owners dumped her (by tying her to the back door of a police station on New Year's Eve !!) when she needed an ACL repair. We had yard sales and bake sale and little old ladies sent their rolls of pennies to raise the $1,200 we needed for her operation. I actually adopted her out for a while but got her back when they "didn't feel capable of handling all the needs of a Golden Retriever" ( a 12 year Golden with a bum knee, that would be a lot to handle , right??) So we decided to keep her. One week after she was deemed 100% fully recovered from the ACL, she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, we lost her Thanksgiving Day. I vowed to turn this into a positive experience and "Claire's Friends" was created. We have gone on to save hundreds of animals, not only Goldens, all becuase of this one very special dog. So that's always my screen name, even on e-Bay !! This is JOY modeling one of the tee shirts we use as a fund raiser with Claire's picture on it.

AquaClaraCanines means Clearwater Dogs. I grew up running around Clearwater Beach. I know agua is the correct word for water in Spanish, but Aqua sounds prettier, and there are various references to AquaClara in the city. Canines, of course, is obvious. I have used the name for years, even though I no longer live there. Clearwater Beach, as much as they try to ruin it and make it a yuppy hell-hole, will always be special to me.
