Why does it cost so much more,than human toothpaste?

Because the companies marketing departments know that pet owners will spend a ton of money on their pets for things at a price level they wouldn't spend on themselves.

I just ordered from this place. Price was better than most and by ordering 3 of the large I saved as it was the shipping charge for 3 as it was for one. And they have an expiration date of June 2015.

A much easier and more natural way for dogs to maintain clean teeth and healthy gums is to occasionally provide them with raw knuckle bones.

Teeth cleaning procedures and doggy toothpaste are rather recent (considering the long history of dogs) alternatives once many people stopped providing their dogs with bones.
