Interview at Auburn :)

This afternoon I finally heard from another school- I got a vet school interview at Auburn University in Alabama!!

I am excited, of course, since I get to have a few more choices! So far I have had my interview at Missouri, my one at Virginia Tech is about a week and a half away. Now this one will be around the beginning of February. I have to call them in the morning to schedule it.

Now I just need to figure out the best way to get there- I'll probably fly into Atlanta since that is the cheaper route and rent a car (though it might be a bit difficult since I am under 25). But I don't see any other way. It is about 2 hours to Auburn from Atlanta.

If anyone has advice who lives near there that would be awesome! I'd greatly appreciate it! I am thinking that I will schedule my interview for Monday February 11th (I can schedule it for February 4-8 or the 11). That seems to be the best day.

Also, I heard from Tufts in Massachusetts last week and I didn't get an interview there. Oh well, at least that is one less place I have to travel. So I'm not heartbroken over that. All the other schools I've heard from gave me an interview. Still waiting to hear from Tuskegee also in Alabama in regards to an interview and from NC state just about admission (they don't do interviews).

Thanks for all the continued support!!!

Give yourself plenty of time to get to Auburn when flying into Atlanta. Depending on time, traffic in and around Atlanta can be rough, once outside you should be ok. Good luck!!

Congrats on the interview--I live an hr away from Auburn (Montgomery area). The docs & students there saved my girl's life, I spent way too many hours at the critical care section there and they were always accommodating for the visits.

Congratulations on the interview! Auburn has become our second home They have treated my girl so well.

There is an airport shuttle that runs between the Atlanta airport and several hotels in Auburn, but the shuttle is $39 each way. You could then take a taxi to the vet school.

I agree that you should give yourself plenty of time to get from one to the other. AND - Good LUCK!

Fantastic. Wishing you all the best. I bet you'll find they get easier as you do more. At least that's what my son found while interviewing for med schools.

Rental cars

Congratulations on the interview! Auburn's vet school has a really fine reputation.

Here's a link to one company that rents to people under 25: Browser Compatibility | Help |. Avis does, too, though there is a surcharge: Search Results. And Budget does something similar: common questions | customer care | Budget Rent a Car.

If you're a member of AAA, they may be able to help you plan the trip, including arranging a rental car and hotels as needed. I have planned many a trip with their assistance.

Good luck!
