| Dog helps man save woman's life from fire The story is here: Retired firefighter, dog named Pumpkin credited for saving Bowie woman - The Washington Post. The dog is a black lab and the woman is wheel-chair bound. The man is a firefighter who says he never saved a life before and would not have done so this time had the dog not made it clear that he had to.

| And I like that the public is trying to get the dog out the animal shelter and into a rescue/foster while the women is in the hospital. It struck me as funny that some of the comments were geared toward helping the woman over helping the dog. There are lots of public assistance programs to help the woman, whether or not she has insurance. But taking care of her dog would be a relief for her, and there are not enough programs available. |
