I've bought from them in the spring. They sell locally at Sears. I've gotten some good down for about $60 a peice a few years ago. Unfortunately they have the nylon exterior that makes noise when you walk. Very annoying. But extremely warm. I recommend them for anyone wanting to keep warm.

I am going to Sears this afternoon and will look. Sure need a warmer coat as I am finding as I am getting older, the cold sure does bother me more. Good thing in Texas it is only for a short time each year, but have gotten along with just windbreakers since a babe...now I want a foot of down between me and the cold air.

Thank you for the tip and will log in and see what they have!

I ordered one of the insulated squall jackets yesterday. We don't really need down in Washington and I thought it would be harder to care for.

I've had down coats and jackets from both Lands End and LLBean. Lands End down coats have never been warm enough, IMHO (I'm having to wear many layers under Lands End coats to stay warm).

I LOVE LLBean's down jackets. Plus they're very inexpensive. I have one I wear to walk Renny that I've had 10 years. It's so warm, I can just wear a T-shirt and I'm still toasty in 10-degree weather. I just bought another one on-sale for only $33! While it doesn't have a hood, I don't mind cuz I wear it to work sometimes and it's just as toasty as my old one.

I buy lots of LLBean vests, coats. Their zippers are the WORST. They do stand behind them....

In Northern Ontario where it has been minus 25 Celsius with a minus 39 windchill everyone wears Canada Goose. Really expensive but I looked at it as a one time long-term investment (like a house) and absolutely love it
On the other hand I do love ordering from Lands End and LL Bean.
