I was leaving work today with four of my dogs, when I got T Boned by some guy who RAN a red light. The speed limit on his side was 45 MPH. But he had a red light!! A tractor trailer next to me taking the same turn was hit by my rear fender when the guy hit me. I had Tiki, Em, Basil, and Gabby (who was the only one in a crate) in the car.... Totally freaked out between myself and the dogs... Couldn't get out my door as the back of it was hit...passenger door on same side was mashed, windows broke, back fender was wrecked... Side air bags worked... My van refused to move after it was hit... I was and am so angry. I loooved my van. It was paid for,,, it will likely be totaled. Its' value to me running is worth more than what insurance will pay... But when all was said and done after that horrible loud noise where Gabby woofed, I tell myself, "I didn't die and I walked away with bruises."

How scary! I'm glad you're okay and hope the dogs are all right too. You'll likely be hurting for a couple of days - take Advil and hot baths to ease the muscle soreness. The dogs may be sore too if they got thrown about. Sorry you had to end your year in such a manner. Was the other driver injured?

That's terrifying!! Thank goodness you and your dogs are okay!

No the other driver was not injured, but I have to say, when I saw he was standing and walking, all bets were off for me. When he ran the light, he drove between two cars stopped at the light... I almost feel he was texting or doing something else as it was such a flagrant run thru the light. I was too angry to have any interchange with him...he came to the animal hospital but was politely turned away....

Oh my gosh!! I am so glad you all are okay! Their are some idiots on the road!! I am so sorry, but look on the bright side...at least it happened in 2012?! Here is to a better year for you! Not a good way to end the year though...

I hope you can take some time off to let your body relax. Please see a doctor for any possible injuries. A chiropractor when you have the time. When I was t-boned (nothing nearly as bad as this!) the chiropractor and muscle relaxers were my only saving grace.

I'm so glad you're ok, and the dogs. You have every right to be angry that the other driver was not paying proper attention and your paid for van is probably gone now. The van can be replaced, you - not so much. Grateful that you were spared, life is a precious gift. I think you may need to go out and buy a lottery ticket.... Happy New Year to you indeed
