I'm sorry this happened to you and your pups. Definitely scary. I'm glad all of you are okay.

I'm sending good thoughts your way for Mantha.

I am so sorry to read about this, and thrilled you and the dogs are all okay. It is very, very scary someone ran a red light like that and hit you so hard.

I am eternally grateful that the sum total of my injuries seems to a bunch of bruises in various places... When it was evident that the SUV was headed towards me running the red light on Route 1, in a split second, I thought this is it, I am going to die. He t boned my beloved mini van and pushed it into the tractor trailer, also turning left. I don't remember that... When I realized I didn't die and the four dogs were ok, I could breathe again. Since I was pushed into the tractor trailer, Gabby's crate took a hit(the glass from the busted window flew into her crate. And the crate was bent on all five sides). Today she was not happy about getting into the crate in the rental. She was also nervous on the front lawn of the animal hospital where she always goes to do her business. The traffic really scared her... So what happens after one is eternally grateful that she was not seriously injured in an accident where someone t bones their car while running a red light, said person gets angry. I am so angry...was he on the phone? Was he texting? Was he drinking? Does this jerk realize that my beloved 2008 Toyota Sienna AWD with all the bells and whistles was a vehicle I loved? It had high miles because I take myself and my friends to many dog shows in New England... Yes, a car is replaceable. I am ok, the other three girl dogs in the car are ok. Gabby will likely also be ok... And I would tell anyone that with the impact that this guy hit my vehicle, the vehicle did what it was supposed to do...it fell apart around me..and all passengers, dog and human are ok. I am renting a vehicle that is way too small for my life and has so many obstructions/ blind spots, it scares me... But it doesn't look like I can find an AWD Toyota Sienna to temporarily rent..,

Wow, I'm glad to read that you and the dogs are all OK! I hope that Gabby can put this behind her quickly. I'm sure she will be fine soon too.

I swear that I see at least 10 people a day driving with their eyes pointed down toward their beloved smartphone and not the road as they drift into my lane. Makes me crazy.

I am so glad that bruises are the worse of your injuries. I wondered about Gabby in the crate. It is not surprising she is a little nervous of the crate. But you are correct, your minivan functioned exactly as it is suppose to, Toyota is one of the best in the industry. I don't know about the US, but in Ontario, the insurance company is required to provide a similar or better vehicle as a replacement. How about a nice big SUV, it might make you feel safer, I know it did me. I was T-boned by a drunk driver in 2003, the SUV I was driving rolled 4 times before coming to rest on its roof. Fortunately both my kids were securely fastened in their carseats, and no furry kids. I don't think the dogs would have survived. Like you we escaped with mostly bruises from the seatbeats, and a bruise on the forehead of my then 8 year old, who while the car was upside down decided to undo the harness in her carseat, "just to see what would happen" What happened is she landed on her head. The brand new (12 miles on it) Dodge Durango that was my rental definately made me feel safer.

Did the police attend the accident scene? You mention that you do not know if the other driver had been drinking.

Prayer for a speedy recovery, and for Mantha that she is feeling better.

The worst part of an accident is the time it takes out of your life to deal with the tow truck, the auto repair place, your insurance company, their insurance company, the police, your stuff in the car that has to be rounded up and done something with, the rental car, and several things I haven't listed. All things that will take time and effort out of your day that nobody will reimburse you for. Accidents just suck the time out of your day usually for many days. Hope this one wraps up smoothly and doesn't cause you piles of time and grief.

I need to read the police report to totally digest everything... I have made this turn at least one to two times daily for the past 26.5 years... My van was a 2008.. I need to replace it,but I do not want another 2008, obviously I want something newer... But again so grateful, that the girls and I are ok. Grateful my, boys(human)were not in the vehicle...
