| What's everyone up to tonight? I was going to head out with a friend of a friend but the logistics of it were stupid, to be honest. We were supposed to meet at this girl's apartment at 2pm, then dinner at 7pm at a restaurant that was super expensive and had no vegan options (everything fried in duck fat). Then back to girl's apartment and then out dancing. Not to mention the annoyance of cab rides to and from, assuming we could even get a cab home at 2am. Of course, the worst thing was going to be leaving Ranger alone for more than ten hours. So, I bailed. I took Ranger for a long walk this afternoon, made some mac and cheese, and now there's chocolate chip cookies in the oven! Ranger and I are now snuggled up on the couch watching Game of Thrones and are soooo happy we're spending the night in. How about everyone else? |

| I am visiting my friends for a long weekend and she is hosting a party at her house, so I am having a great time with two of my best friends (aka wives) from school I never do anything for new years eve.

| I took Molly out for a long walk too.. And a swim. Can't end the year without a good swim! An old friend of mine is getting into Seattle tonight so I will meet up with him for a little bit.. Hopefully I won't have to leave Molly home alone for too long. |

| Nine years ago I came home to find Hannah wedged between the bars of a piece of furniture. She is terribly frightened of fireworks and I have no idea how long she was stuck in that position (somewhere between 1 min and 6 hours) - that was my last New Years out. I don't know if it's simply aging or a side effect of treating her health issues this year, but her hearing is a bit worse, so she's not in a complete panic. We just had a good game of "rope tug" and will settle up in a bit to either watch a movie (well, I'll be watching) or I'll read aloud to her until she dozes off. Ranger - Good thing you aren't nearby or I'd swoop in for vegan mac & cheese and cookies!! ![]() eta - it must be selective hearing - - for the past 30 minutes she's been panting in my face heavily. poor girl

| Hmmm.... well, I'm watching a bad movie. I had a nice little supper with wine. Then I worked it off on the elliptical trainer. Back to the movie and a washload. Thrilling. My boyfriend is out with his friends in another town and he'll be back tomorrow only. I prefer to stay home with the pets and I'm even glad for the time alone in the house. However, I can't help but feeling a little bit sad to be alone on new year's eve. The hightlight of my day was spending time with Poppy, "making her day" by running in the woods and going to the dog park. When she's happy, I'm happy.

| Very exciting plans here, too, but I'm not into wild parties. Toby and I went for a nice hike this afternoon, then I fixed my range hood (on the to-do list for a couple of days). My fiancé came over, we had a nice dinner, and now all 3 of us are snuggling on the sofa, watching ridiculous tripe on TV and waiting for midnight. Well, 2 of us are still waiting and watching. #3 (four-legged) has fallen asleep. We lead such a jet-setting life. |

| It is 9:00 here. My husband is already in bed. We had Chinese food. Now I am watching the movie New Year's Eve with two of my three daughters, my third is at a sleepover. In about an hour, we will make fried Oreos and hot fudge sundaes, and hopefully stay awake to see the ball drop. We are having a snow storm right now, the roads are going to be a mess on an already dangerous night to drive.
