I got the flu day one of my four day vacation. So far it's been pretty terrible and I've been feeling really badly. Today was about day three and beside a constant throbbing headache, I've been a little better. I had to cancel going to a Christmas brunch which kinda sucked.

Flu. I hate flu. How about coughing? Been coughting much? I had a case of swine flu a fews years back that was awful. High temperature, cough, achy. Miserable. Lasted full strength practically a full week.

I feel your pain. I was sick for almost 3 - 4 weeks and is 90% back to normal now. This time around the flu I heard is very strong... many coworkers in my building are cough like no tomorrow and non-stop.... and in the malls... or when there are people... you hear cough cough cough...

I only took over the counter drugs and lot of water and sleep...

I hope you feel better soon, or see your family doctor - my coworkers went to see family doctor and got antibotics... he recovered faster than me but I heard it is too strong for the stomach...

I am now investigating the herbal - reishi - to see if there is any value as a healthy mushroom...

Lots of coughing, high and low temperatures, body aches all over, nauseous and this bloody throbbing head ache. Today though, it's mostly been a head ache and a runny nose. I've been sleeping on and off since this thing started and drinking lots of fluids. Sucks though being over the Christmas season though.

Thanks! I've been sleeping a ton, lots of fluids (water and orange juice.) I think i've turned the corner and it'll be gone by Friday when I'm back at work. Poo!

Me too. I haven't had a vacation in a long time, and I am trying to use up some vacation days before I lose them. Yesterday evening I started feeling ill, and then my son is playing in a hockey tournament this week...so spending 5 hours in a rink today sealed the deal on this cold. We have to be up at 5:00am tomorrow for the next round too.

Tonight I'll try some secret remedies my Ukrainian friend has given me over the years. I can't read the labels, but they usually do the trick.

Hope you feel better today - I still have 10% sick - So I decided to get Benylin - All - In - One (Cold and Flu) - It said non-drowsy. O man - I am drowsy after 30 minutes ... I hope 2 more days. I am all normal.

Will drink tons of water tonight too.

Did you go to the doctor to confirm it is the flu?
We've already had confirmed cases of both A and B, plus a separate virus that is a horrible cough which is lasting 2 weeks or longer. Adding in the crazy weather which changes daily (a week ago it was 78, then snow for Christmas).

Tamiflu is in short supply this year, but makes a huge difference if started within 24 hours of the symptoms.

They are predicting a bad flu season this year because a smaller number of people got the flu shot.

Hope you feel better really soon. My daughter caught a cold, then I did, then I got walking pneumonia. I finally feel as though I've rejoined the world. My only advice--don't do what I did and ignore just how sick you are. You will get better faster if you say "uncle" to the germs and stay in bed!
