I always said I did not want a smart phone. My wife got me a Galaxy S lll for Christmas. It was not activated until today however I could play around with the wi-fi on my home net all day Christmas. Cool stuff.

Anyone have recommended Apps for such a phone?

That's the phone I have, started with the 1st the 2 now Slll, I love it!
Apps...ANGRY BIRDS! and Evernote. depends on what you want to do with it really. It's capable of so much, I use it more than my pc.

Also, set up Dropbox to automatically upload pics as you take them. That way your phone doesn't get full and the pics are always on your pc and in the cloud.

I want the 3 - I still have 1. It still works so well that I can't convince my husband to let me get the 3.

There are apps to run my Samsung TV and blueray players and my GoPro camera.
A weather app to monitor what is going on in the area where family lives.
Sports apps for updated scores.
Apps for facebook, etc.
Calendar link on the first page.
I have a file on the first page to link to all of the photos I have taken with the phone.
Barcode scanner and Keyring for coupons and discounts.
My Fitness Pal
OnStar link for my car
Games
I don't need it for the GPS, so those are disabled.
Apps for my favorite websites.

Toby seconds this motion. He loves all things "Angry Bird" ... particularly if they squeak.

Congrats on the new phone, Al. They're cool phones. I've got the Galaxy SII, and it's great. I like the "Map My Walk" app for hiking the woods with Toby.

You are not quite the last of the holdouts. I am still in the stone age of the flip phone. DH is trying to convince me that we both need a smart phone but I am not quite there yet.

I am still in the flip phone stage too. DD is trying to convince me I need and iphone, and of course she needs one too. No thank you, I don't want to be that locatable. However, I am sure it is only a matter of time.

DH & I held out as long as we could but I needed a new phone (mine was 8 yrs.+) and DH hated his, we switched to Verizon and they had the free iPhone 4 offer going on so we both went to the iPhone. I must admit, I love mine!
