| Oh how fun...try not to obsess for a whole year! LOL Be sure to hit the after-Christmas sales. That's when you can buy the best quality ornaments at a fraction of the original price. I'd offer ideas but have no idea how things are done down under and what's available. |

| "Oh how fun...try not to obsess for a whole year! LOL " It is the only way I can cope. Dealing with things next year definitely won't be in the fun category then. Plus I would have missed out on all of the post Chrissy sales. If I am going to go to all of this trouble we are going to the extreme He he ...oops I mean HO HO!" I'd offer ideas but have no idea how things are done down under and what's available. "Everything is available here. I am also a world wide Ebay fan

| One year I bought inexpensive cloth table napkins on sale after Christmas. That was a few years ago and I still use them. Half are red, half are green. My centrepiece varies but currently it is one of those hurricane lamp things with ornaments from the dollar store inside.

| I buy really pretty wrapping paper and I "wrap" my table with it. Then when we're all done, I just roll the whole mess up and throw it away! I love personalized place card holders. You can buy ornaments really cheap after Christmas, and put people's names on them with a metallic pen (from a craft type store like Michael's, JoAnn Fabric, Hobby Lobby, etc.). I have put them in champagne glasses (plastic) full of cut up ribbon or confetti, so they sit on top of the glass. One year I had plastic "donkey" ornaments, and we had a riot with that. We were the "ass" family that year. We had fuss ass, crab ass, tight ass, smart ass, wise ass and so on. The fun part was we told everyone to just sit at the ornament that they felt described them. Also did that with the 7 dwarfs another year. Everyone tried to sit at "dopey", lol.

| I love HOte4Dogs' ideas with the gift wrapped table. If you want to go elegant, hit the after Xmas sales and buy a really nice tablecloth with matching napkins. One thing my sister and I do is hit antique stores for wine glasses. I look for singletons that are unique--interesting color, cut crystal, etc. They are usually cheaper if there's only one or two left from a set. When I set the table, everyone has a different glass. My sister shops for ornaments that represent each person somehow, and puts the person's name and the year on it. That's the place card holder. She often finds a small-ish gift, wraps it, and puts that at the place setting also. We don't have holly berries here in California, but we have a shrub called pyracantha that bears berries at Chrismas-time. So we usually create a centerpiece out of that, with candles, etc. Have fun! It sounds like you're going to go all out. Ah--another idea. You might want to poke around Martha Stewart's website... she always has lots of idea for celebrating the holidays. |

| Wow I wanna come to your family's Christmas'! Thanks!! They are all doable ideas when you have a year to prepare ![]() I have twenty people coming. Last time I found little 3D angel cards and stuck a picture of the person's face onto the angel's face. Sounds like it is going to be a brighter and more colourful Christmas next year which is awesome I also like the idea of wrapping the table which is a great way to introduce colour with a bright 'table runner'Is it wrong of me to be more excited about seeing your photos that to find out what I got for Christmas this year??
