| I am. This has been the most awful semester ever. I stupidly though it'd be an easy term and that has made it even worse. I'm a third year history student and this is the first term I'm not taking third or fourth level classes. Instead, I was fulfilling other requirements that worked out to 4 intro-level classes and one second year course. You can see where I thought that'd be a cake walk... But no. It was a nightmare. I had 6-9 papers/projects due each week, from the first week in October to last week of classes. Last week of classes involved 4 final papers, including two which counted for 50% of my grade in that class and an all-nighter for a group project when I hit a formatting problem. FUN stuff. Last week I had one final paper due on Monday, a scary final on tuesday, and a scarier final on wednesday. Tomorrow I have one LAST FINAL. But the prof is a whackjob. She has lied to students throughout the term, marks based on her own opinions and has succeeded in failing - no lie - half the class. She has made students cry on more occasion than one and has been more than unprofessional in numerous cases. Including telling a girl that she will never be at the same standard as the rest of the class because she's ESL. Nice. SO, I'm having a hard time studying. I keep starting to then getting distracted...like walking ranger for the 6th time already today or doing laundry or cleaning my bathroom. Anyone else in finals he!! right now? |

| YUP! I'm in the same boat. I can especially relate to the whole cleaning bathroom/doing laundry/dog walking for the six millionth time because it's effectively the story of my life. The ultimate distractions. Fable is euphoric, though. She loves this recent development! I'm done exams (I only had two) but am getting totally dominated by a research paper that will be the death of me. I'm doing my Master's in philosophy and sometimes I think that temporary insanity possessed me... there's no other explanation for why I would have voluntarily done this to myself. I have been working on this paper for months but the last week has been pure misery. I can't WAIT for it to be over! So I'm definitely sympathizing with you right now! GOOD LUCK!

| Good luck! I've been out of school for 14 years and I still have occasional nightmares where I forgot to study for a final exam. Luckily for me, waking up makes my problems go away. ![]() One tip I just saw on TV from a researcher at U Chicago was to write down your worries immediately before the exam begins. That prevents your brain from wasting processing power on anxieties and allows you to focus on the task at hand better. A better explanation: Writing about worries eases anxiety and improves test performance | UChicago News |

| I'm not in it for myself--although I clearly remember everything you are describing--but am for my daughter who is a junior in high school. HS finales arent quite the same as college finals, but the students get just as stressed out! Hang in there. It will soon be over and then you can enjoy a break and the holidays. |

| Just was talking to my granddaughter, she is having the same problems. Her boyfriend told her to get an ice cream cone and take a walk on the beach. I hope it all goes well for you....HUGS!! |

| The teacher in me must reply - for every final you took, I had 50 to grade. And no, I don't do multiple choice, so I can't run them through the scantron, I have to actually grade every one of them. I still have a pile looking at me that need to be completed tomorrow. As to the teacher who failed half the class - unless she's tenured, and then there's not much you can do - I would be pounding on the door of the dean with complaints. I had ONE professor tell me I couldn't succeed, and I got an A to spite him. That said, good luck, it's soon over, and we can all take a few weeks to catch our breath before the next round. Oh, after I finish the Christmas stuff, write the syllabi for next semester, do the schedules for next semester, figure out if I want to change homework assignments - all ready for the first day of class. And read the book to make sure nothing changed since last semester. And set up grade books, and set up the online portion of the course, and did I mention that I don't get paid for any of this? |

| Good luck! I took my final today...beginning nursing theory...my profs can't even agree on testing material...and every answer is technically right...but I have to choose the most right of the right answers...good luck. |
