| iPads are generally easy. It may take extra time to get used to but I let my chronically ill daughter play with mine. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

| My dad (85) found the ipad too heavy. He loved it though. He could subscribe to his newspapers online and enlarge the print. He also could download books from the library. He also joined a site called grab.com i think were he could play card games online with others. He also would "borrow" my daughters Nintendo DS handheld game. I think donkey kong and suduko were his favourites. |

| I just got an I- pad two weeks ago. They are very easy to get used to and unlimited possibilities to entertain oneself:books, Internet, games, magazines just to name a few. I think he would love it.

| I actually got mine for my mother (85) who is pretty much bed bound now. She had loved her PC and spent a good amount of time playing games, email, etc. The iPad was too heavy for her and she was easily frustrated by the sensitivity of the touch screen. Her loss, my gain! It is mine now and I am joined at the hip. Mom did better with a Nook although she doesn't love it. |

| I have an iPad and love it. I sit mine on my lap in a case with a keyboard. DH has a 1st generation iPad and it is much heavier than mine. I bought him an iPad Mini for Christmas, it's very light. |

| I've got an iPad 2 and really enjoy it. But it does require some getting used to as far as the touch screen and I could see where a senior might have some difficulty with it. Pete

| I agree Pete. I played with my wife's iPad 2 and I had difficulty using the touch screen hitting the small control icons with my fingertips. I wish it had a setting to make the controls bigger. However, it is was fun to use after some practice.

| My brother gave my family and my mother ipads for Christmas. My mother cannot even figure out the VCR, but can use the the Ipad. One great thing about games, is there are many games she can play against other people, such as my children, who are 1500 miles away. We also use facetime quite often, which is apple's version of Skype, face to face calls. It is a lot lighter than a laptop, but I guess can get a little heavy, depending on how you hold it. The newest version is supposed to be thinner and lighter. My daughters have downloaded tons of free games on it. We have two now, and the five of us are always fighting over them.
