We've been getting hammered out here on the west coast by the Pineapple Express! Here in northern Ca the rivers are rising. My Feather River is still within her banks but this next system might just put her on a rampage.

It's hard to believe this is the same river I was able to wade across earlier this year and barely get wet. Woody and I will be fine as we're far enough away where if she does jump her banks we shouldn't be in harms way.

We're lucky we didn't have a heavy snow pack this year as this warm storm would of had a lot more water at her finger tips.

I hope to get some more pictures tomorrow...hopefully they won't be taken from my boat!

I still love her though...how could one not...she's so beautiful...

We've been stuck in an arctic high most of the fall and winter so far. I know that is pushing down south all the systems that we normally see. With rain it's tough, you need it but in moderation. Sometimes it's hard to get cooperation from Mother Nature. I just remind myself, less forest fires.

One of the problems we've had down here, mud slides which have closed highways, is a direct result of the forest fires we had earlier this year. Mother Nature can be one tough lady!

What a beautiful river... nature is so beautiful and so dangerous.

A couple of winters ago the snow levels were exceptionally high in the sierras. I went on a long hike mid July in the high country expecting a few tame creek crossings thinking water levels should be down.. boy was it dangerous.. they were pretty much full on raging river crossings and the water was ice cold it hurt to be in it for too long. I miss it so much.
