I am sorry, people just don't seem to care enough. to go out of their way to help, and that goes for some familys, we found that out ,with my husband having cancer, it really disapoints a person.

Talk to the folks at the fire station nearest to her home. Not knowing where she lives, it may not help....but if she's in the PDX metro area, she might be able to get some help from the Sunshine Division and I think Vancouver has the same or a similar program.

My agency gets Christmas presents for all the children of all the families who attend our classes or take part in home visitation services. We find there are so many people who want to help when an agency is overseeing the gift distribution.
So, what I am suggesting is there is probably an agency in your area that does the same thing. In my state (SC) if you call 211, you will reach the United Way call line that will link you to the agency that provides the services you need. If that doesn't work in your state, maybe start calling churches to ask if they are helping families or can direct you to an agency or organization that is?
I do want you to not judge too harshly those who didn't respond to the facebook appeal. It is very likely that every person who read that has a close family member or friend who is in the same boat as your daughter.....and for all you know they could be helping that family (or wishing there was assistance for them).
