| My feelings for cats change and vary like the stock market. I grew up with cats, so deep down I have a special devotion to them. At the same time, I love dogs alot more! I used to not like dogs when I was a kid. I would watch Heathcliff and cheer when he beat up Spike or other dogs. I love cats actually, but I am not nearly as crazy about them as Goldens. I am not a cat enthusiast. They are sweet little things though. I saw a stray kitten when I was walking Mercy and she was mewing. I tried to get her to come to me, but she ran away, but would still turn and mew as she walked away. To me also, dogs are easier to clean up after. Litter boxes are a pain and a lot of work! I don't mind scooping poop nearly as much! I love petting my friends' cats though. One friend of mine recently got a Ragdoll kitten and I was making a big fuss over her, awing and ooing like I normally would towards a puppy. Ragdolls are such beautiful cats, and perhaps I might own one someday. We'll see. |

| I like cats, but I'm more of a dog person. I've got Toby (11) and Peanut, age unknown since she was a desert rescue. I just lost Sheba kitty in May, she was 18. Last edited by Lilliam; 11-27-2012 at 08:39 AM. |

| We love cats here! Our oldest son and his wife have 3 cats, our daughter has one, and we have two here. We joke that our youngest is going to be one of those crazy cat hoarders. On tv when he grows up. Our cats are Lily (from a shelter in MD), and Kure (named after the beach we found him on in NC). Sometimes I wonder why I am giving up the easy life we have with the cats. Put some food in their bowls twice a day, the boys clean the litter boxes, that's it.... We've had several discussions with the cat about their new sister coming in a few weeks. So far they are pretty ambivalent about it....

| I couldn't help myself! I searched for a reputable Ragdoll breeder through the CFA and The RagDolls of America Group equivalent to the GRCA for RagDolls. I found only one breeder in my state that breeds them to standard. I saved it in my favorite places! Hee Hee! ![]() Our home is not suitable for a cat right now with a toddler and active Golden Retriever running around! |

Aww, thanks for posting! My two cats do all of these things, including grooming each other. I never realized some of these actions were actually them showing affection. Now I feel loved |

| I will always have a cat(s). I have two now and they're wonderful. Candy, (12 years old), is a Siamese X and Luna, (11 years old), is a dilute Tortie. It's funny because each cat has their own dog. Candy and Chance have a "thing" and so do Lucy and Luna. |

| Oh yes, I love cats. I had a Main Coon growing up and he was awesome! He would stand by the fridge every morning and meow at whoever got up first until they gave him his daily plate of milk. Unfortunately, my two puppies don't appreciate kitty's as much as I do. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App

| Right now I do NOT like cats very much. My next door neighbors cat comes over and pees on any mat I hae by front door. A few times when we ahd the garage door open he has gone in and peed in there. He walks along behind my lighted snowmen and knockes them over, he digs in my flower bed. And we have suddenly devloped fleas for the first time in years. It all started with two feral cats that walk our back fence stalking the squirrresl and birds we feed. Cant swear they come from those cats but the fleas showed up shortly after the cats started coming in the yard all the time. I usually got 2-3 months or even longer between having to give Honey Comfortis for a flea or suspected flea--but now she has had to have them 2 months in a row and it is isn't a flea or two, but dozens on her. On the other hand we had and adroed Pippi for 17 years. She loved all dogs and would run right up to any dog she saw. When she was about 3 or so she started not using her litter box, only the bathtub and closet. We tried changing litters, even got a new box, but she refused, so had to go outside. We built her a "cat house" she could get in, and also left the garage door up just enough for her to come in. she followed us around the yard like a dog, and if you sat down,s he got in your lap[. And she was like 10 before she was ever around small kids--and she LOVED the grandkids. they could carry her by her hed, tail, upseide down and she just purred. They would put her down and she would stay right them . She only ever ventured into the yard on either side of us and only time she went into the street was to follow us down to mail box. Her "best friend" wa the 3 pound chichiua net door. We adored her. But the cat next door and the feral cats--i wish they would go elsewhere.
