I thought that this would be a fun topic to talk about.. what breeds do you wish to own & why? Or.. if you couldnt own a Golden Retriever (lets just say you absolutely couldnt.. lol) What other breed would you want to have? I have so many dream breeds that it scares me.. ha ha. I have always wanted a Yorkshire Terrier since I was probably 10 years old. I am not much of a little dog person, but I want to prove to people that all little dogs are not ankle biters and yippee little things. They can be trained to act just like any other dog out there! & I have fallen in love with the look of them. They are just so cute to me! I also think Great Pyrenees's are stunning & seem to be gentle giants I have a weird obsession with wanting a Newfoundland. Again, another Gentle Giant! Something about huge breeds are just appealing to me. What are yours?

I have a friend who has goldens and rough collies and she says they are very similar. My list would be: rough collie and doberman. I'm obsessed with watching dobermans when I'm at dog shows....I just love them.

1. I will always own a golden.

2. Beagles - I LOVE these handsome no-nonsense no froofroo dogs. I would only adopt from a rescue though. There are so many beagles in rescue.... o_O Especially beagle/bassett mixes (they have the longer hound ears but don't have the long/low basset bodies).

3. English Springer Spaniel - I interviewed a breeder last month and liked what they said about epilepsy and temperament (two problems with the breed). I just steered back to goldens because I want Jacks to have a buddy his own size.

^ I don't know if I would personally go out and bring another rough collie home? They are very sensitive and the temperaments aren't the same as goldens. They think more... and are a bit more judgemental about other people and dogs.

Goldenjackpuppy.. I have never really thought much of anything about Dobermans, until recently. My sister got a Doberman puppy and he is BY FAR the most well behaved puppy I have ever seen in my life! He follows you around anywhere and if you call him you can certainly know that he is going to come. He is not bitey or mouthy at all, and he is so calm and agh! It makes me kick myself in the butt because here I am dealing with a 8 month old naughty puppy and this little guy is only a couple months old and he is an angel haha!

Thanks, Yes Ky is purebred Akita. I also like the Shiba's, I recently watched the webcam from the time Shiba's were born until they went to their forever homes. They were so adorable, like little teddy bears...with attitudes

There was a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever at our class. She was beautiful and seemed very similar to a Golden. I would consider one. Also, and I debated HEAVILY beore I decided on a Golden, I LOVE Leonbergers.
