Kfayard- How cute! They almost remind me of mini old english sheep dogs and I have never heard of that breed!
A couple of you have said some dog breeds that I am not really familiar with so I am going to have to look into them! King Charles Spaniels are oh so adorable.. Another dog that sets the cuteness factor high, in my opinion, are Pappillions. There little butterfly ears are so cute! I also really like French Bulldogs, but dont know if I would ever want to get a bully breed.

RIP to my Golden Boy Cruz; <3 Gone but never forgotten. "My old friend this song's for you
Cause a few simple verses was the least that I could do
To tell the world that you were here
'Cause the love and the laughter will live on long after
All of the sadness and the tears
We'll meet again my old friend"

Well, next on my list is a well bred golden or lab. I love goldens, hubby loves labs...I honestly love both--though goldens are my heart breed. Or possibly a rescue of either. We'll see when the time comes--but having a little boy and other dogs, will have to be the perfect rescue. Of course with 3, we are maxed out--so it will hopefully be some time before we add another furbaby.

Others I would love to have are Newfoundland or a Bernese Mountain Dog. I like big dogs with hair--who cares about having a spotless house?

I have a jrt x--and while she is a great little dog in a lot of ways, I don't think I'll ever go out and intentionally get another small dog.

I like the looks of the GSD's....but.....their personalities are a bit aloof for me? Not as happy go lucky as I prefer. But my brother has one and he is a great dog.

I love Border Collie's too--but since we live in the city--I'm not sure the breed would be best suited for us.

Papillions would be right on my list too. There are really the only small breed besides the PBGV that I love!!

I think I finally learned how to replied to people instead of typing there name! Lol. I love pappilions. I think they are just so gorgeous and they don't seem to get the same yippy little dog reputation that other small dogs do.

I love how social, and cuddly goldens are, which is why I will probably never leave the breed. If I did, and was willing to give up a few of the things I love about goldens, then i would go with a Toller, or Border Collie, but I just love cuddly, and the "everyones my friend" attitude of a golden.

I have a Boxer, Laina Jane, who has stolen my heart. She has a very similar disposition to the golden I grew up with. LOVES her humans, fast learner, people pleaser, VERY high energy, and likes to chew! I think my husband and I will always stick to Boxers and Goldens.

Oooh, boy! Great topic! While a Golden always was and will be first on my list, the list ain't exactly short. Here I go:

2. Newfoundland - working dog, strong dog/human bond, calm, smart, amazingly loyal, a Canuck (!!!) and (yes) furry. Free condiments with every meal! They are so beautiful!

3. Great Pyrenees - see above, minus the Canuck part. Plus, when we lived in France when I was a little kid, a neighbour had a Pyr puppy and he was the sweetest, most playful, adorable little... err... big guy ever. He was my buddy.

4. Bernese Mountain Dog - again, the working group and a wonderful dog/human bond. Plus lots of fluffy fur, smarts and incredible beauty.

5. St. Bernard - do you see a pattern developing here? Big, strong, loyal, human-focused and beautiful. And again, my nomadic European childhood brought me into contact with several St. Bernards (as well as Bernese), and I loved them dearly.

6. Rough Collie - there's that herding/working group again. Beauty, amazing smarts and a coat to die for. What more could you ask for (even if it's on your dinner)?

7. Labrador Retriever - a sporting breed at last! Amazing that between my first choice (the GR) and the next sporting dog there should be such a gap, but there you have it. I love the Labs' disposition, loyalty, joie de vivre, etc., but I do so wish they had more fur. Obviously, I like fur!

I would love a Great Dane. I have always wanted one. I am afraid of their short life span though...

Well, I have always wanted a Golden, but my house is small (large yard though) and with three kids we knew we didn't have the space for one, so we had Cocker Spaniels, which I love too...but having a Golden has been a dream of mine forever. Our kids are grown and living on their own, so I am finally going to realize my dream....God willing we pick her up on the 27th of December and we couldn't be any happier or more excited...
