It has been a sad day on here, with the loss of reno, so with christmas around the corner, what colors do you use in decorating,for christmas?

I was over at Target looking at Christmas lights....

We don't decorate until Christmas Eve and our Christmas lasts through mid-January. But I've grimly realize that if we want new Christmas decorations - especially the lights which have to be replaced every 3 or 4 years, we have to buy them now.

Anyhoo -

I was at Target and looking at the lights and definitely am buying 3 packs of the large faceted blue lights (blue's our favorite color). I did stop and stare at the purples though. I can't imagine buying purple!

Last year we did gold and white and blue. <- I would have just done golden and white, but we didn't have enough gold faceted lights.

Does anyone decorate purple at Christmas?

I don't think I'll be doing any decorating this year. With 2 new kittens (now 1 year old) and monster puppy (ie: Kenzie), I see it as a disaster waiting to happen!!
Maybe I'll do lights on the outside of the house!

I use red, white and green.
And in my guest room I have a beach themed tree, in our study I have a patriotic tree dedicated to my husbands military service. I want another tree for the kitchen with Startbucks ornaments, but i might get served divorce papers if I go through with adding another tree. Both kids have trees in their rooms.

Yes,get them soon,they are gone quickly. I really like seeing gold, with ivory.

We always did white, but last year we went back to multi color on the tree and white on the house.

The gold sounds pretty, I am not sure I have seen them.

We usually put our real tree up around Dec 20, but here in KC people start putting them up before Thanksgiving, everything is sold out first week of December. I think I am going to have to buy my tree this weekend, if I want one. They are getting harder to find.

We dont put anything up until December 1st. Im sure the kitten will love the tree I put up so plastic ornaments are a must this year. We just do some candy cane stick in the ground light things and some lighted greenary around the porch. To lazy to put up lights on the rook this year tho I *might* do the windows.

Last Christmas we didn't put up our tree, which is about 25 years old, cause Ken was having Spinal Surgery. So this year we'll put it up. We have multi-colored lights and all different colors, shapes and themes of ornaments. Some were my Mom and Dad's so they are precious to me. Christmas is a hard time as we lost Smooch on Dec. 7, 2010. Ken's job is not going well, but we will make the best of Christmas.

This is what the tree colors looked like without the white string plugged in. I haven't seen too many of the big gold faceted lights either.. with our candle strings and the small pearlized white lights, it did look very nice. We just had to add the blues at the top because we didn't have enough gold. >.<

We picked out and purchased our tree last Saturday. We will cut it probably this weekend and bring it home....Geez kind sounds like getting a puppy..lol

First time we have done this and it was kind a cool. No one else was at the tree farm but us, so Roxxi got to go out and walk with us.

We decorate in red, white and green mostly.
