OMG...coworker bitten badly last night!

My coworker had not submitted her payroll schedule so I called to remind her. She's on her way to the doctor because she was bitten badly by a dog last night.

She was dropping her granddaughter off at her son's house. Her son had just gotten a dog (supposedly a lab/collie mix) from a shelter. My friend was standing inside the door and the dog lunged and bit her in the leg...ripped a hole in her pants and punctured her thigh with full force!

I told her to call the shelter to verify that the dog had had it's rabies and all other vaccinations.

It sounds like this shelter, whatever it was, misrepresented the dog to her son completely. Or the dog had issues that were not identified while it was in the shelter. Needless to say, with children in the home, they could not keep a dog that would do something like this.

The poor woman sounds completely traumatized!

Getting bit is no joke but has anyone heard about the female fireman in Chicago northern suburb that was attacked and Killed by a reported Mastiff , have no idea if it was English Mastiff or a BullMastiff or one of the other Mastiff breeds but it sure is a terrible and horrible way of dying.
