FAVOURITE THINGS TO DO WITH MY GOLDEN: Clicker Training. Walking him (much more slowly than he would like ...see above). Taking him to new places ....I get so much pleasure out of sharing his new experiences. Can't wait to take him to the river & to the beach. I have lived in many different places in the world .....England for a total of sixteen years....Jordan in the Middle East for five years ....Singapore for two years .....The Gambia in West Africa for six years. Born in NZ but spent most of my adult life living away from it. Returned to live here end of 1998, but I have seen so little of this amazingly beautiful country. Also want to travel back to UK & Europe with my husband, as he has never been to that side of the world. REASON FOR JOINING THIS FORUM: a few years ago we shared our home with two beautiful Maremmas (super-large Italian Sheepdogs) Thor & Neeve ...brother & sister we got as seven week old puppies. Out of ignorance we did not train them properly& had huge issues with barking, recall, & not being able to walk them often due to pulling on lead...one weighed fifty kilos the other weighed forty- six kilos. Finally, due to complaints from neighbours, we were forced to rehome them. It was absolutely heart-breaking & we still grieve over them. We want/have to get it right with Loki. We want him to be with us for his whole life. So I have done lots of Internet research & came across this forum just four days ago. I am learning such a lot. |
