Frankenstorms?

Weather Channel is sure talking gloom and doom for the East Coast when Hurricane Sandy merges with the Jet Stream. Just wanted to tell all along the Eastern Coast I will be thinking on all of you. Batten down the hatches and dig out the camping gear. I know you know the routine, but they talk that this will/could be a bad one. Get an extra bag of kibble, lots of bottled water and settle down. Hopefully it will turn more to the right and not do as they say it might.

Being raised on the Coast (Houston) I always go into the Storm mode when one is in the forecast though we are not close to the coast anymore. God Bless the old Coleman stove, lanterns, sleeping bags and the ton of candles I keep buying! Do you who live along the coast, do the same as I? I live with the motto "Be Prepared"!

Deb & My Golden Kids
Kye & Coop - the loves of my life
My little Biewer Yorkies - all 7 of them!
Sadie & Okey - my mini aussies

I want to surround myself with people who are "Cracked" for they are the ones that let the Sun Shine in.

I'm going to make an early prediction that this is all weather news hype and the real storm is simply annoying and wet, if it hits us at all.

Now, I live about 100 feet from the water, so you may see me eating my words as I drift out to sea in my little house, but I'm going to go ahead and make my prediction anyway and see whether the gods punish me for it.

I hope you are right and this thing just takes a right hand turn further into the Atlantic.

I'm hoping that it's just hype for nothing--you know, sometimes when you expect the worse, it turns out not so bad, so that is what I'm praying for for everyone.

tipppy, break out the life preservers, just in case--hopefully if you're prepared, you won't *need* to be.

Just like Tippy we are about 3 streets from the bay and the ocean is on the other side about 5 miles.
We are prepared, generator, candles, water (fill the bathtub also to flush toilets)
we cook with propane so no problems with cooking. Lot of dog treats and food!!!!

Everyone on the east coast, lets hope it goes OUT TO SEA>>>>

I'm worried - any type of weather makes the DC area shutdown and cower. It's amazing how unprepared this area always is for any type of bad weather.

Last July we were without power for nearly a week (before we had Shadow). If that happens again in our new apartment - man, the thought of stairs to get Shadow outside. Yikes. I'm just not in good enough shape for that!
