I'm going to make an early prediction that this is all weather news hype and the real storm is simply annoying and wet, if it hits us at all. Now, I live about 100 feet from the water, so you may see me eating my words as I drift out to sea in my little house, but I'm going to go ahead and make my prediction anyway and see whether the gods punish me for it.

I'm hoping that it's just hype for nothing--you know, sometimes when you expect the worse, it turns out not so bad, so that is what I'm praying for for everyone. tipppy, break out the life preservers, just in case--hopefully if you're prepared, you won't *need* to be.

Just like Tippy we are about 3 streets from the bay and the ocean is on the other side about 5 miles. We are prepared, generator, candles, water (fill the bathtub also to flush toilets) we cook with propane so no problems with cooking. Lot of dog treats and food!!!! Everyone on the east coast, lets hope it goes OUT TO SEA>>>>

I'm worried - any type of weather makes the DC area shutdown and cower. It's amazing how unprepared this area always is for any type of bad weather. Last July we were without power for nearly a week (before we had Shadow). If that happens again in our new apartment - man, the thought of stairs to get Shadow outside. Yikes. I'm just not in good enough shape for that!
