Murphy has a slight limp from playing too hard with my son's dog over the weekend. I took him for a walk today, seemed good then. But after laying down he kinda had a little limp. (front leg) Could anyone tell me they think its safe to give him 1 coated aspirin? 325mg. Just don't want him to hurt.. Thanks
Tomorrow, please call and check in with your vet. After researching the topic, I was all set to give aspririn to Tucker but vet said no. Haven't had a chance to follow up and ask why however.
Some vets say an aspirin is okay, others don't. I have had one vet tell me, it is okay to give to Toby, another said it was not his first choice but won't hurt. Then there are vets that don't want it given ever.
I am not giving aspirin to Toby, he is on Rimadyl, but one aspirin to make that pup feel better on a weekend when vet offices are closed, won't hurt.
I am sure the OP will take the pup to the vet if he continues to limp.
if the puppy doesn't take any other meds I would give an 81mg coated baby aspirin.
