Well, it happened to me. Hubby mentioned getting a dog, the four of us all took compatibility tests online to find the perfect breed-we all got perfect match for goldens!-the boys started pushing for a puppy, more research was done, a breeder we liked was found, and now I am one of THOSE people.
The kind who show strangers pictures of their dog on their phone and spend hours online reading about everything from the perfect food (SO stressful!), to vitamins, to crate training, to house training and beyond. And today I did Black Friday shopping online for a puppy we don't even have yet.
I can't help myself!!!
Hi everyone-so glad to join your community. I have already gleaned much wisdom from these boards and am thankful you all take the time to share the ups and downs and lessons learned along the journey with your precious goldens.
Our sweet baby girl, named Thelma Lou, will be coming home with us in a little over two weeks. We are working hard to be ready for her and I do think we may be a little crazy to be bringing a puppy home in the middle of the Christmas season but we are sooooo excited to get her here!
I'll post some pictures when I find my phone. She's adorable.
Thank you-we think she's adorable, too!
I love your name and title. My hubby went to grad school at Chapel Hill and we lived in Cary for two years, so we love the Tarheels, too!
Congrats. There are indeed lots to learn, but just get the basics down and chip away each aspect, ie, food, vitamins, crate training, etc. or you can get overwhelmed quickly.
Well clearly I posted too fast because the pix were there. She's beautiful. I'm sure your family will enjoy the adventure ahead of you. Hanging out with the puppy parents on GRF is always a great way to learn stuff!
Welcome to the forum! It has been a life line for me. I am really loving all the Carolina members/fans! I am from Southern Pines but live in Surf City now with Phoebe, our 8 mo Golden. You are going to have the BEST Christmas this year! Can't wait for more pictures of Thelma Lou!

Woot! Looks like a tough game, esp with Hairston out. But I like these young guys-they have potential. (And hopefully won't rip our hearts out by leaving early, as a certain point guard did last season....but that's another subject).
welcome to the group and congrats on the new furry member of your family, you can never take too many puppy photos i wish i had taken more of Jasper when he was a pup and I have a fair few.
I'm one of those people! I try not to talk to much about my puppy to people at work as they are starting to think i'm crazy! thats why i love this website
I'm one of those people too, class of 2012! I think I'm just going to refer to myself as a converted cat lady from now on. I'm already obsessed with our little puppy and he's not even home yet! Welcome to the club
Welcome the the group. I also find myself being one of THOSE people too. We're planning a spring pup and my wife tells everyone I've become obsessed with Goldens. Just can't help myself. Love the pics and hope to see more.
